QB Cardale '12 Gauge' Jones (B1G Champion, National Champion)

How many other backup QB's got rings for their first 3 starts? He has a better shot than most if put in the right situation.
None, and those rings mean as much as winning the Heisman when you get to the league, absolutely nothing. Once you make the NFL, no one cares what shiny trophies or rings you won while playing CFB. RG3 had several leg injuries and still led a dynamic offense and won the heisman, he's now barely holding a roster spot after being drafted extremely high. And yes, based on skill set I said, I agree with you. But like I've also stated, his short comings will keep him on an NFL bench for a while. You don't go to the NFL and all of the sudden you learn how to read complex defenses, if you couldn't read the easy ones in college.

I think he's going to need at least a couple years on the bench to learn from (hopefully) an established NFL QB. If you are an NFL GM would you rather draft Cook in the first, Hack in the second or Cardale in the 4th?

Cardale in the 4th without a doubt. But problem is, if the team he goes to isn't very good, the GM doesn't have a couple of years, it's also a win now league with very limited spots. Teams are now mostly only keeping 2 QBs on the roster. I would like a roster spot for the practice squad for Cardale if I'm New England, Dallas, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, NYG, NYJ, New Orleans, or any other team with an aging QB.

Question, not only to you but all the posters, is Hack that good? Scouts seem to drool all over this kid, yet when I see him play OSU he shits the bed each time, and I don't go out of my way to watch Ped St games of they're not playing OSU(which actually goes for all B1G teams not playing OSU).

I don't know. He's got zero protection and he only seems to complete luck job long passes like Chad Henne. I think he may be fucked between the ears with what he has to deal with at Ped State. He may get killed by way off defensive lineman and it won't matter...

Hack does possess actual talent, IMHO, though he wilts in the pocket. Nobody is more overrated than Kaaya at Miami.

Kaaya has alwayed sucked. Hack at this point is gun shy damaged goods.
I disagree on Kaaya, i think Kaaya is actually talented. His O line is god awful and he still is next to the only thing the Canes have going for them this year and partly last(with Duke being the focal point). Kaaya is a pure pocket passer with good pocket presence and a solid arm

Entirely depends on what I already have at QB.
Hack is right out. Unless my coach is BoB, he says do it, and we can get him much later than the 2nd round.
If I'm the Clowns, I need somebody yesterday. Drafting a project in the 4th round just to end up throwing him to the wolves in week 7 is foolhardy. And just what I'd expect from that front office.
If I've got a decent QB but want some depth/future... Cardale is an intriguing prospect.

The NFL has tried to take some spread QBs, but they get killed when they're not as fast as NFL DEs. LOL.

They're also not very football savy. There was an interview with Bryce Petty where he said running the Baylor offense stunted his football development, and he wished he had done more pro style stuff to prepare for the NFL. He didnt know anything about different defensive fronts, when to change protections, or how to read deciphered coverages.

Ha.
I also don't think you should boo the "nothing" teams. Boo Hawaii? Northern Illinois? Bah. I won't do it. Heck, I really don't boo Michigan. Just their stupid band, and their "greatest fight song". Pfft.

Edit - I just realized this was the Cardale Jones thread. WTF??? Why are we talking about Michigan's marching band?

Because pumpkin Meatchicken.

(My phone now autocorrects to Meatchicken, which is all kinds of awesome.)

I think that can be said about a majority of CFB QBs, as more are starting to run the spread. College coaches are supposed to win games for their teams in college, preparing the kids for the NFL isn't a priority. Pryor went to the NFL as an athlete, and one more year at OSU wouldn't change much, private QB coaching will start to increase as more coaches in HS and college are running the spread to take advantages over the defense.

Absolutely not. Classic case of supposed experts drooling over arm strength without taking any of the mental part of the position into account.
