So, among the other neat uses for the PS3 besides posting on BP , has anyone else used the download manager and checked out the demos at the Playstation store? I downloaded Heavenly Sword, which was pretty sweet. I saw a video demo of Metal Gearl Solid 4, pretty cool looking and I've never bought one of the MGS games. Downloaded several other demos such as GT Concept, Armored Core 4, and trailers, all done in the background while I played NCAA 08 online, no lag :) Its a cool concept that you can potentially download music and videos while you play.
Aside from playing around with the online features lately, I'm still pretty fed up with the Wii's remotes. As much fun as it is playing Wii Tennis/Bowling or Zelda, it is annoying as hell to frequently replace/recharge the batteries in 4 remotes. On top of that, the reception with the remotes is quirky at times. I can be sitting on my couch 10-12 feet away, and the Wii remote's pointer will start going spastic on the screen. On the other hand, with the Sixaxis, if it runs low on power you can directly plug it into the machine without game interruption while you charge it. I've also tested the Bluetooth reception, its unreal. With the PS3 running in the basement I've been able to go outside to the edge of the driveway and the system still receives the controller's input...I wish my phone got that kind of signal in my basement.
The library of games is starting to come together, and some great releases are on the horizon. With the price cut that recently went through, PS3 ownership has gone up. I think its only a matter of time as better games are released, the PS3 will be doing really well for itself. Any games ya'll are lookin' forward to now that NCAA has made it to the PS3? :)

Agreed. PS3 has some great Store things going on. I am on my PS3 almost all night, even if I am not playing a game I am still surfing something.

Well, I might finally have to get a PS3 now. Last night our house was broken into, and the thief ran off with my big ugly launch PS2 and the two Logitech wireless remotes.

Now I'm stuck with 30-some PS2 games and no PS2 to play 'em on. :(

or ya could just get another PS2. We sell em for $79.99 now.
Debating it. I'm keeping my eye on the pawn shops and local GameStop to see if my old one turns up first. Whoever broke in knew what they were doing, because they unplugged the power from the wall and got behind the TV to unplug the RCAs. Everything was neatly snaked out through the entertainment center.

Luckily still have the original sales receipt w/ the serial number on it.

If you call the O.G. PS2 "big, ugly". What do you call the PS3?

OT, but yeah ... I saw my PS2 Friday. Police called and told me they arrested some guy last week breaking into a home (there have been over 60 B&Es in Fairfield Co. since late summer), and that they had gone to the guys home and found a PS2 there. The PS2 they took as evidence turned out to be mine, as I have the original sales receipt which matches the UPC unique barcode and the original box which has a sticker matching the embossed serial number on the unit.

I'm still out one Logitech Wireless Controller, the DVD add-on remote & IR receiver, plus a couple of games that weren't recovered, but all things considered I'm happy to be able to get the PS2 back -- well, my son is, anyways.

who breaks in to a house to steal a PS2? Don't you have a Wii and a 360?
The PS2 was in a separate room from all the other systems in the house. I don't think the thief spent too much time picking what he wanted. After all, the fuckstick stole a near-empty pack of cigarettes off my kitchen counter, but didn't touch my iPod which was docked in an iHome radio right next to where I'd left my cigs.
