Same here, I'm enjoying my PS3, play it as often or more than my Wii. I usually don't play the Wii much unless I'm /w friends, I like both machines. Been on the computer more than either console lately since I did some upgrades.

Yeah d has got some issues with sony.. im enjoying my ps3
Nah. I've explained my position well enough I won't rehash it short of saying, 'Sony hubris.'

They're heading in the right direction though. They've cut the Emotion Engine legacy CPU and are making it up in emulation, plus they're ramping up blue diode production to lower costs, targeting $8.00 USD assemblies by June. That should get them to the point where the cost will be lowered substantially by the end of this year. A new PS3 SKU, now with 80Gb drives, has started showing up too (oddly without any formal announcement I'm aware of).

Sony still has a long way to go. It's going to be an interesting summer.

LV, you can program those things to your PS3 and use them as a controller and also download games onto the PSP through the PS3

New game: DiRT

from ign:
Ignore the great physics, inspired tracks, and gorgeous visuals for a moment and let's focus on the most impressive aspect of DiRT: Damage.

Real rally racers are precision drivers who have the skill to navigate narrow roads without dinging their cars. Most videogame drivers aren't quite as skilled. More than likely you will have your share of crashes, particularly in the early goings of DiRT. That's not such a bad thing, as every brutal impact displays the beauty of DiRT's damage modeling. DiRT's sophisticated engine simulates damage with incredible attention to detail.

Each rally car has eight areas that can sustain damage during a race. At the start of a rally, your engine, gearbox, bodywork, exhaust, driveshaft, suspension, cooling system and wheels are set at 100%. That won't last, even if you're a near-perfect driver. Rally's offroad locales are going to put some strain on your car. Friction and heat will wear down your wheels regardless of how perfect your lines and even a slight jump or drop from a hill will weaken your suspension. Once you start slamming into barriers (or rocks, or port-a-potties) the damage to your rally car mounts quickly.

I have a regular old-style tv and basically just want to buy a 20GB console. Does that mean I have to go out and buy a new tv?Should I even bother?
The PS3 is still (according to Sony and their devs) something on the scale of 25x more powerful than the PS2. Even if your TV doesn't support 1080p/HDMI, you should still see a drastic improvement in the visuals just because of the higher resolution textures, draw distance, and increased triangles.

You cannot buy the 20Gb PS3 anymore though. It was discontinued in March due to lack of demand. The only PS3 available in the US is the $599 60Gb version. The PAL versions being released in the EU have been bumped up to 80Gb hard drives, but the US likely will never see this version, since there are about 1.9M 60Gb units still in warehouse in the US from the launch production line that are unsold.
