Operation Chaos mode - BCS Title game contenders

  • Oklahoma loses at least once in next three weeks.
  • Virginia Tech is looking downhill from here, only #25 Georgia Tech ranked between now and year-end.
  • LSU probably loses the next two weeks.
  • Cincy also is looking downhill, not one ranked team between now and year-end.

The ACC has a lot of teams that shifts in and out of the top 25. BC, UNC, Georgia Tech and possibly NCst are all fringe top 25 teams. And this is a VaTech team that gains 350 yds a game while giving up 325 yds a game, meaning they are not dominant at all. I expect them to drop at least one more game.

Since we have already established that only one SEC team can represent in the title game, which automatically eliminates two of the three SEC teams in contention, I'm not worried about what LSU, UF or Bama do or do not do the rest of their schedule.

Cincy still has to go through the full Big East schedule, and I haven't seen any indication that they can cruise through it like a top five team could. Louisville, UConn, Pitt, and WV are all formidable challenges.

Agreed, I don't think that Va. Tech will make it through the schedule unbeaten. I think the North Carolina game could be a loss for them, just a hunch.

The poll that matters right now....The Coaches poll

1Florida (58) 4-0 1474
2Texas (1) 4-0 1410
3Alabama 4-0 1364
4LSU 4-0 1226
5Boise State 4-0 1144
6Virginia Tech 3-1 1091
7USC 3-1 1081
8Oklahoma 2-1 1055
9Ohio State 3-1 1036
10TCU 3-0 928
11Cincinnati 4-0 848
12Oklahoma State 3-1 665
13PennState 3-1 627
14Georgia 3-1 616
15Houston 3-0 539
16Kansas 4-0 508
17Iowa 4-0 462
18Mississippi 2-1 424
19California 3-1 356
20Michigan 4-0 304
21Miami (FL) 2-1 298
21Brigham Young 3-1 298
23Missouri 4-0 295
24Nebraska 3-1 242
25Oregon 3-1 198

Others receiving votes: Georgia Tech 186, South Florida 117, Auburn 103, South Carolina 92, Wisconsin 53, Utah 40, UCLA 27, Notre Dame 23, Stanford 20, North Carolina State 8, North Carolina 7, Florida State 4, Minnesota 2, Arizona 2, Rutgers 1, Texas A&M 1

I don't understand why Wisconsin isn't in the top 25 being undefeated in a BCS conference.

That Bosie State at # 5 concerns me. UF Bama and LSU will have two sure losses out of the three because of the SEC schedule and SECCG, which leaves those assholes in pretty good shape, given their remaining schedule. Who is going to beat them? Hawaii??

If they get in the BCSCG ahead of some one loss BCS team, then it will be Hell to pay.

And as much as the voters are skeptical to put in a team from a BCS conference that they don't feel are worthy, they won't put in a team from a conference that they really don't think is worth it.

I don't think that will happen... Herbie brought it up and the strength of the opponents of the teams right behind Boise(within 100 vote points) will allow those teams to jump Boise. And to be honest the Computers are going to thrash Boise. So if they don't get to 2nd in one of the 2 other polls(Coaches or Harris) then it won't matter. They may not lose but could lose out because they play nobodys.

The only team of note they beat is FSU who is unranked and FSU's major win was over BYU.
It's when you lose and how you lose.

Point being....FSU was ranked #18 and whooped the shit out of BYU at BYU. USF dominated every aspect of the game in Tally, and still aren't ranked. That should put them in the top 25 and above BYU. But these polls are a joke. Iowa not being ranked ahead of Penn State proves it as well.....How is a team that just won by 11 on the road, ranked behind the team they beat? It's all garbage....

But at least it only counts as a third of the tremendous BCS formula.....

If they do and they play your boys, may Tebow grant no quarter. No mercy. 71-2.
