no, they're not and you're right.
However, if you read posts that bashed your school would you be any less defensive about it? I am in the odd/unique position that I love both schools but had to pick the one closer to home because, well, for family reasons. I recongnize that a lot of UC fans can be abrassive, to say the least, when it comes to Ohio State and that sucks because it does nothing more than give UC a bad name. I have state over and over again in this thread that UC is not on OSU's level but the path and direction they are on is the right one. I guess I took more exception at the personal attacks on Marddy Gilyard's grill and preceived, though not stated, thug life blasts. I like Gilyard and I appreciate his story and his fight to where he is. I like the fact that he volunteers time in the inner city to talk to kids. I'm not trying to make him a saint, but I can see how it can be taken that way.

I apologize to all OSU fans who read my posts in this thread and took them as OSU bashing. I'm not being defensive as my posts may seem and I apologize for that.

note: I have no ties whatsoever, or loyalty, to this kid or the university. but I find it funny that so many people here are openly attacking the kid and his teeth because he said he and the Bearcats wanted to play tOSU.

...and I find it funny that you are trying to convince yourself that's what is going on here. Read the thread again, and you'll find that the lion's share of criticism is directed at the player's ridiculous comments, not at the kid and his teeth. You may want to believe that "so many people here are openly attacking the kid and his teeth," but you're kidding yourself in an attempt to deflect attention away from his ridiculous comments.

whats so ridiculous about a player and team wanting to play Ohio State to prove they are capable of beating them?

ps: on a side note, the cats went to Hawaii and won late last nite. Mr. Gilyard was game mvp with like 140yards receiving and the game winning td. Also, Isiah Pead looked REALLY good last night. Runs hard and has some very good speed as a True Frosh, though im sure alot of you followed his recruiting to an extent. he'll be a good back for the cats the next few years, though I think he should be getting more touches than he has(or did last nite).

The insulting, classless tone that he used was ridiculous. You want very much to believe that Ginyard said, "Dear Ohio State, we respect your team very much and would like to play you someday. Thanks for your attention." Not the case, chief. By the way, there's a UC-Hawaii game thread in which you can post your p.s. comments--try to keep this thread on topic.

Just to be clear. I was making fun of this kids gold teeth long before he ever spoke a word about Ohio State.

According to the genius Doug Gottlieb "Ohio State won't play Cincinnati", at least that's what he just said on his show. I wish there was a direct line where I could call this dumbass and remind him that we're 4-0 against them since 1999.

It would be nice if these talk show guys actually knew something about their topics instead of just making shit up as they go along. :ohwell:
