somebody posted this awhile back about penn state, but it's fitting for Cincy considering their comments.

Cincy is like the fat kid that loses 40 lbs over the summer. He comes back to school wearing a bunch of tight shirts to show off his banging new body, but just comes off just looking gay instead. He's still got another 15 lbs of baby fat to lose, but he figures the prom queen is now in his league because she was being nice and said he looked good.

umm. I think we recruited a fellow by the name of Eugene Clifford not too long ago. Not all programs are immune to it. Difference is, Clifford ruined his opportunity for an education at tOSU and playing in the NFL. Ginyard went from living in a car on his own working two jobs for two years before getting to UC and now seems to be making the most of his opportunity.

If UC is lucky, they'll get the ACC champ in their bowl game. Then the winner of that game can thump their chest pretending as if they actually won a big game. (while the rest of us are laughing "how cute?" - like the little kitties they are).

I think there has been a lot of energy and frustration put into this thread about a truly meaningless topic due to comments by a player who will be playing in, for all intents and purposes (and outside of the respective fan bases) a meaningless game.

The penis envy on one side and the head-up-the-assedness on the other is truly a sight to behold in this thing....

I am not sure why you keep bringing this up. You seem to believe that because someone worked hard and is admirable in that respect, he is immune from ever saying anything stupid. Ginyard's work ethic/persistence/etc. are irrelevant to the question of whether he made a fool out of himself by making those statements.

I'm sorry, but I fail to see what is 'meaningless' by playing in or winning the Orange Bowl. What makes it meaningless? the national exposure to potential recruits? the 10 million dollar payout? the reward for a senior class that made a commitment to the program that was famous for playing in half empty stadiums and getting beat by Miami-OH on a regular basis?

So, by your theory, OSU's pending Fiesta Bowl game with Texas is also 'meaningless' since, half empty stadiums aside, the Bucks aren't really playing for anything, are they?

and, if it's UC, I will. I'm sorry, I just don't see the negative to my alma mater winning the Orange Bowl. You can blast the accomplishment all you want, it won't change how I feel about it.
