Game Thread Nebraska at tOSU, Sat. Oct. 26, 12pm ET, FOX

That call was a legit one to get pissed about but he is lucky the B1G refs who love making the game about themselves did not tack on another 15
He is lucky but there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. That was my point with the post. The biggest issue I see right now is on field leadership. There isnt a Mike Doss on this defense that can just take charge. Offensively, Will Howard shows command but he can’t make a block. He made 1 bad pass and Nebraska did a great job of breaking their tendencies to have that guy in position.

eh. that's anecdotal. you've decided they need to come out jumping around and screaming because that's apparently what you think winning teams must do. what teams do as they come on to the field has nothing to do with how good they are or how well they play. if Ted Ginn comes out with black eye liner on acting all emo before a game, he's still faster than anybody else on the field and will run past them accordingly. how they enter the field means less than nothing to me.
Sure, did you see any fire or emotion from the team? They were flat as hell. It was apparent they weren’t ready for this game.

I get it nobody does it for ole momma U anymore.

The OL recruiting seems like if they whiff on their big highest rated targets they just mail it in and take whatever random guys that will say yes.
If you’ve been paying attention to recruiting, they HAVE led for sone high profile OL early in the process. Prior to NIL, job offers for family members and $$$$ enticed those players to go elsewhere. With NIL the recruiting remains the same. You just have other teams throwing more money/benefits at these elite players to go there. Maybe OSU needs to reconsider where some of their NIL money is being spent. 1 or 2 less WR and more OL.

We had many more TFL and sacks than last week, I'll even go as far to say that had we'd seen the DLine perform like that last week we would have won that game. It's not just LJ's fault.
If LJ was the reason why the DL wasn’t stunting etc, then he did have a large part in the blame. I don’t know if that’s the truth but it’s been rumored that him and Knowles weren’t even close to being on the same page.

Who’s fault is it?

Coombs?
No it's shared between LJ and Knowles if I'm not mistaken we had a similar situation at LB a few years back, where they would get caught of position many times. The LBs coach was that dude that was Urban Meyer's best man at his wedding but if I remember correctly that guy was universally hated by the fanbase lol

I always watch them come out of the tunnel. And they were just jogging on to the field like ho him, another game.

My disappointment continues to be in the staff. They rarely make adjustments from what I see. WTF was Chip thinking today? You absolutely need to get EE and JS more involved in the game. Yes there were some nice plays for them, but too few and far between. You make $$$$$ to scheme things even with a disjointed line Chip.
I agree. Body language can say a lot, especially among kids that age. Something is off with this team.

I like Day. I don't want him to be fired. People can disagree without being villianized or accused. I have different expectations than you. That's OK.
I don't know what your expectations are, then. To never have emotions on the sideline, even in the face of a proper fuck job (something that happens to us at least once a game.....especially at home)? Because we have other people saying there isn't enough emotion. There was nothing wrong with Ryan Day being pissed off about that call. If you're embarrassed by his reaction, then there isn't a coach worthy of being hired anywhere.

:roll1:

"body language"
"fired up"

buzz words that have nothing to do with talented players executing a game plan. as if they're intentionally not being allowed to be aggressive during games. it's equivalent to ESPN ranking teams based on the "eye test". just rank the teams you like wherever you like them, and then use "body language" as reasoning why.

I know SCUM cheated but they won a Natty because their primary focus was building in the trenches. Just like the good SEC teams

Day hasn't shown that commitment

He wants to out-finess you

And it doesn’t work

He has a family, brotherhood locker room

Urban wanted a pissed off team.

It’s just a different approach by Day and it doesn’t seem to be working

Again, anecdotal. You're assuming the failures of the team have to do with kumbaya nonsense instead of our 2nd best player on the OL who plays the most important position on the OL being out, and the team not having an even average replacement. We weren't being finesse when Treyveon and Judkins were running down people's throats. When the OL can't block, I don't know how you expect to do anything other than out finesse teams.

And I'm not saying that isn't a failure of the coaches in the recruiting aspect.......but we can't go out right now and recruit a replacement for LT. So what can be done tomorrow to fix the blocking? I don't know.....but pining over a bunch of cheating assholes who played early 2000 football isn't it.

Huh?

Day doesn’t know how to have a physical team on the OL or DL

That was my point

Do you disagree?
