I'm sure somewhere in the 97 pages it has been hit on, but I don't understand continuing to throw unproven players out there when they continue to struggle. There are a myriad of reasons why someone is struggling, but if Zen is getting destroyed....take him out. Day's reasoning of wanting him to play through it and not wanting to panic is nonsensical to me. The majority of our team hasn't earned the right to 'play through it' and you have depth for this reason....Burke is struggling? Put Matthews in. Zen struggling? Put Montgomery in and move Jackson. Competition is preached nonstop but it seems like that stops when the game starts.

I was shocked when Igbinosen was yanked after his pathetic attempt at coverage........only to put him right back in a play later. The guy is just grabbing receivers and running them out of bounds. What the fuck?

Yeah he’s killing us with the penalties that’s for sure. At least Matthews was out there playing a lot it seemed like.

I always thought Davison would be a good safety

Only thing I can come up with is maybe he looked good in practice, and they just thought he had the yips the first few drives. There was 100k strong in the stands. Him not getting help after halftime... I dunno

Something's not working, I definitely agree with you there, but Day wants to play physical, as show by his overly stubborn insistence on running in short yardage and an obsession with toughness post '21. I agree with OL recruiting, but again it hasn't been due to a lack of trying or caring.

If anything, he needs to get out of the macho bullshit mindset and let Kelly and the perimeter athletes work in short yardage.

As for Urban, this win would be one of his classic let down games. Day just hasn't had as many. From '15-'18 they had NIU (8-6), Minnesota (6-7), NW (7-6), MSU (3-9), Neb (4-8), Maryland (5-7). Urban preached toughness and it often fell on deaf ears resulting in letdowns and sometimes blowouts.

This team is far too inconsistent with too many issues for their experience and talent. It's easiest to say it's vibes or finess, but right now it's a fire drill at LT they might not be able to put out, I don't know what the fuck on defense. Day is in charge of unfucking this, whatever the issues, and if he doesn't he'll be gone soon.
