Conspiracy Theory With Michigan State

Have mysterious dark forces been conspiring against Michigan State all these years?

Dantonio_Tinfoil_hat_medium.jpg

Scene: Jim Delany's office, B1G HQ, Oak Park, IL. Delany is in a meeting with Mark Dantonio. Dantonio is in a foul mood---his shirt looks mysteriously like an old Michigan one, but the block ?M' stitching has been removed and replaced with a Spartan logo taped on the other side, and dyed a color not of this world, with maybe a tinge of blue. It's certainly not the MSU green. Also, it looks ill-fitting and loose on Dantonio, and it might be a couple more seasons before he grows into it.

As a source of amusement, that article ranks right up there with ScriptOhio's entries on the "Best Jokes" thread.

Read the comment. The real amusement is watching the Sparty fans insist THAT *IT'S ALL REAL!

*The organized conspiracy against them

Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio encourages recruits to 'find the truth'

Mark Dantonio has taken Michigan State to six bowls in a row.

The old saying "the hand is quicker than the eye" might as well also apply to recruiting.

So when Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio is talking to prospects about their choices, as far as other scholarship offers they might have on the table, he encourages them to be very thorough in their fact finding.

"I keep talking to players about finding the truth,'' Dantonio said. "It's very, very important to find the truth, because I think in this day and age, recruiting is so accelerated.

"There's a lot of stuff, a lot of myths out there.''

No doubt, programs and coaches have become much more sophisticated at marketing their team on Twitter in an effort to enhance its appeal.

Certainly, Dantonio has proven that team recruiting rankings might as well be thrown out the window where State is concerned.

The Spartans have had only one signing class ranked in the nation's top 20 over the past five years, and yet, Dantonio has won more games than any Big Ten coach in that span.

Color me impressed.

How many coaches is Dantonio (44-22) comparing himself with?

Two. Ferentz (39-25) and Fitzgerald (40-25). He conveniently excludes Pellini who's 48-20 at Nebraska.

Tenure of other B1G Head Coaches:

Wisc and Purdue: New coaches (Bielema was 47-19)
Ill, OSU and PSU: 1 year
UM: 2 years
Indiana and Minn: 3 years (just added for completeness:wink2:)

And half the time half the fans here want to boot him out of Lincoln.

Fuck him. I used to be a BIG fan. I would root for our brethren to do well against others. Then there was that stupid tat thing and they all showed their true colors. Now I pretty much say fuck em all. There are 3 teams left that I'd like to see have decent seasons.

Northwestern...Kinda like rooting for the Cubs.

Minnesota..I assume that by definition they have beaten Wisconsin to have a decent season.

Indiana..I live in South Bend. The joy I would get from being able to utter the words.."pfffft the Hoosiers are better than you" would be epic.

If there is one thing I know about people with a history of heart attacks, it is that it's always a good idea to scare the [Mark May] out of them at 6:30 in the morning

They wouldn't have done this when Gholston was around as he would have beaten the ever loving [Mark May] of the kid.

The fact that half the players jumped and were scared doesn't bode well for their defense this year.
