HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

He couldn’t even be trusted to call plays. I love him as a recruiter but that’s why everyone loves him. Eventually he will leave to go somewhere else and learn on their dime.

That’s the point though…..gotta think a little outside the box here.

If Clemson doesn’t promote Dabo to HC he takes his bad ass recruiting reputation to another school and likely never finds his way back.

Hartline doesn’t need to be an elite OC elsewhere to show his chops.

Does he know the game well enough to hire an elite staff? Can he recruit an entire roster outside of the WR room? Does he understand the culture needed to be successful at Ohio State.

I think the answer is yes across the board. If we move on from Day, Hartline is going to be plucked by another P4 school that recognizes the upside he can bring their program.

It’s risky but the reward would be worth it IMO.

Just got home from the game. Wow. Just wow.

We kept thinking the O would unfuck itself. So many chances but it just never materialized. At this point I think we need to ride the Day program through next year. He either brings the team back to the Top 10 and into the playoffs or he fails. Then we know if his ship is righting itself or if it is slowly sinking.
Man seen the titanic hit the iceberg in- person and said “Hey, let’s keep this thing going another year!”

Lmao and then what? He has literally no coaching ties outside of his current role. He retains the same position coaches and ops staff that’s currently in place and we still piss and moan about DL not getting pressure and shitty OL play…WR would still eat however

You know Clemson won Natty’s with Dabo who went from a literal used car salesman, to WR Coach, to legend HC at Clemson…..while also never being known as a solid X’s and O’s guy on either side of the ball.

The blueprint is there.

Im not ready to look at it from this perspective yet. If Day doesn't get to the NC I just don't know how he keeps his job. I've been a big Day defender, but 0-4 to scUM after Urban is literally unacceptable. Especially after being favored by 21pts. I'll probably just log off for a few days. This was a tough loss
Even if Day can get us to the NC, which I highly doubt after today and Oregon, he doesn’t have the stones to win. He never had. He fails spectacularly on the big stage and the big games every time. Yeah, he beat PSU and an overrated IU this year, but those were games like today he should win.

He can’t handle the pressure when it comes down to it.

How do you not acknowledge and discount three years of CHEATING?!? Mind blowing.
If you still want to use excuses, it's mind blowing! You just watched OSU get dog walked when they were favored 21 freaking points! I'm in Detroit, MI right and literally everyone i talk to is stunned and can't believe they won. Miss me with the cheating BS, when they didn't cheat today. Day and Kelly got simply out coached. $20mil for this roster will be laughed at, at every corner of the tsun, gtfoh with the excuses about cheating

The Hartline-Dabo similarities are interesting. I'd never even considered that. I've watched Hartline. He's constantly coaching/instructing in the game. He has real fire in his belly. Smart, charismatic. Pair him with some good, experiences (not Chip Kelly) coordinators and he might be pretty appealing to be honest.

I'm at the point with Day where I feel fine jumping feet first into the unknown with potential vs. what we know we have in Day. But that's just me.
