HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

For me, personally, winning a NC is incredible, but losing to ttun is still unacceptable. It's not an either/or. A national championship is the pinnacle of the sport and unbelievably difficult to accomplish, especially now with the expanded playoff. That said, would this NC feel as good as 2002 or 2014? Not for me, sorry. There will always be that itchy scar from losing The Game.

For me, we haven't seen enough national championships for me to gripe about what happened leading up to it. But, I completely get what you're saying.

It would be different, for sure. But that doesn't mean it should be appreciated any less.

Different isn't just bad either. You know what else is different?

-Beating four top 7 teams in a row (two of them from the godforsaken SEC)
-Beating three top 5 teams in a row
-Beating five top 5 teams overall, an NCAA record in a single season
-Getting revenge on Oregon and curb stomping them in Pasadena
-Beating Texas in Texas and getting a top 3 play/moment in Buckeye history in the process
-Beating Notre fucking Dame in the National Championship Game
-Winning the first ever 12 team Playoff

This team would be making history in many, many ways. This was a historic gauntlet that I'm confident would not be matched for a long time. I think many people are kinda overlooking this right now because it's happening so quickly, we're still in the thick of it and the job's not finished...but when you sit back and take a 10,000 foot view of it all, it's really, really special and absolutely unprecedented.

I'll never forget that Michigan loss; for me it's easily the biggest "WTF" moment in program history and it will be talked about forever because of that. However, if they pull this thing off? I'm not going to let it bother me. In one single night we can match the number of National Championships they've won in the last 77 years, so...fuck 'em.
