Dabo won (2) Natty’s and, yes, the college game got away from him when he refused to adapt to the current climate in college football.

It doesn’t change the fact that Clemson took a massive gamble on a guy whose highest level was a WR coach but they knew he could recruit and believed they could put a top notch coordinating staff around him.

Dabo refuses to take portal players at Clemson. That’s idiotic. It has made him less relevant in 2024. But he WAS elite.

The blueprint is there.

The Game Used to matter. Technically it doesn’t anymore. If you can win a natty without beating scum , it doesn’t matter. Inside in our souls it matters but in this new age - I’ll take a natty and a loss over no natty and a win. My old school brain had to readjust and that’s just how I see it in 2024 and moving forward. And it’s gross. Yea.

It matters to me. It actually remains to be seen whether it matters where it counts, the folks that control the money bags. It will actually be interesting to see what happens, if tOSU makes a deep playoff run. Win a natty and sure, Day's job is safe, but how much faith do you have that he won't turn turtle when the pressure is on in the playoffs.

Either way, even if they win it all this year, I won't be buying a national championship t-shirt.
