With the season opener just days away, the Ohio State football team has one big question they still have to answer.

The Ohio State football team has just a few days before the 2024 season begins. They have done a lot of work this offseason. Adding players from the transfer portal, bringing in new coaches, and having the old players train have led to a national championship-or-bust season.

Ohio State is under a lot of pressure to perform this season. The Buckeyes have lost three straight games to Michigan, which is unacceptable. Everything they've done this offseason is to correct that. Ryan Day has done his best to make sure that he doesn't fall to them again.

Despite all of the roster improvements and the addition of Chip Kelly and some other coaches, the Ohio State Buckeyes still have one major question as we head into the season. Can their head coach actually win when his back is against the wall as it is right now?

Ryan Day is the major question mark on this Ohio State football team​

The Ohio State football team is only worried about the game on Saturday, but fans should be worried about the games later in the year. Oregon, Penn State, and Michigan are the three big games this season. Ohio State can only afford to lose two of those and Day can't afford to lose one of them.

If Day loses to Michigan again, the only way for him to save his job would be to win the national championship. Short of that, Ross Bjork will be finding a new coach to bring into Columbus. Day knows this but he can't fast forward the calendar three months.

What makes me think that this team is different is that Day's fingerprints aren't on it as much. Chip Kelly is calling the plays and will be running the offense. Jim Knowles runs the defense. There are fewer things for Day to screw up. That might be the best thing for him.

Just sayin': Interesting comment; however, Day is still responsible for what the assistants do too. In addition, I seriously doubt that we will lose to scUM this year.
