Future Football Schedules (Updated 8/31/2024)

Re: Florida A&M, a Football Championship Subdivision

I'm against playing 1-AA schools. They are a "no win" situation (just ask scUM about Appalachian State) and they don't help your SOS.

:shake:

And is $850K really the market rate for second tierIAA teams?

It's amazing. Look at this gauntlet in 2013:
@ Iowa
Indiana
Purdue
@ Illinois
Michigan
@ Nebraska
@ Northwestern
Minnesota

You've probably got 4 guaranteed wins right there, with the rest anywhere from extremely winnable to slightly daunting.

2014 is, if possible, even easier.
Illinois
@ Michigan
@ Indiana
Northwestern
@ Purdue
Nebraska
Iowa
@ Minnesota

Christ, I could see them easily running the table that year. They've got Nebraska and Iowa at home. What's their toughest road game, Michigan? Gimme that schedule any day of the week.

Of course, they had to put Wisconsin in the east with Ohio State and Sparty/Michigan in the west to maintain the competitive balance.

Florida A&M serves one purpose. To show the good people of Ohio what a real Southern HBCU band is all about. Some poor, deluded souls are under the impression that the pasty faced, pear shaped members of the "110" represent such musicianship.

They do not.

To compare them to the FAMU, Grambling or Southern bands is akin to comparing Pat Boone to Curtis Mayfield.

The good people of Ohio are well aware of what a real HBCU band is all about as they've had one for many decades.

The Central State University Marching and Concert Band.

I just don't like it. The 9-game B1G schedule removes the marque matchup each year. I'd rather see Tennessee than Florida A&M or NC. Just my IMO.
Meh, I'd consider the switch from Tennessee to UNC just fine. Is Tennessee a more historic program? Definitely. But UNC is a top-notch institute, competitive, and it would get us a game in an important recruiting area. Tennessee brings what exactly?

Buffalo game completes 2013 schedule; series with Cincinnati now includes a Sept. 8, 2018 game

I really love that Indiana game before scUM..I know every college football "expert" will call that a trap game but I think UFM will handle that just fine.

"Ok guys we got the hoosiers..you want to be a starter versus ttun then we better win this one by 60."

Yup, there were rumors that they tried to get out of the Cal series.

I'm VERY glad they decided to keep this one. My intention is to get down to it. :banger:
