Future Football Schedules (Updated 8/31/2024)

Yep, against Kentucky no less...I mean that is why their fans are such big SEC SEC SEC fans, right? They have competed for a football conference championship haven't they?

Whoa whoa whoa, they were undefeated through the first 5 games of 2007. So what if they went 2-5 after that, one of those losses was in overtime anyways, so that obviously doesn't count. That's the equivalent of undefeated in any other conference.

Something to be aware of since you have Va Tech on future schedules.

If the ACC moves to a 9 game conference slate, this significantly limits ACC schools motivation (and flexability) to schedule OOC games.

The article pertains to the upcoming UGA/Clemson series. Since the ACC has expanded to 14 teams my beloved Bulldogs might be scrambling to replace Clemson on the schedule if they move to a 9 game conference schedule.

Clemson will not drop traditional SEC rival Carolina (nor should they) and I'm sure they'd rather have the revenue of scheduling a cupcake home game as opposed to a home/home with UGA. It's likely we'll get the boot.

The gist of OSU's conf FB sched in 2015 and 2016: No nerds, no corn.

Tony Gerdeman ‏@GerdOzone
This season will be the last time OSU and Nebraska play until 2017 at the earliest.

2016 does not look pleasant for Ohio State. At Oklahoma, at Penn State, at Michigan State, at Wisconsin.

COLUMBUS, Ohio ? The Big Ten Conference released its 2015 and 2016 football schedules today and Ohio State will open each of those Big Ten campaigns with games against the Purdue Boilermakers.

Ohio State will play at Purdue Oct. 3 to kick off the 2015 Big Ten campaign and Purdue will come to Columbus Oct. 1 for the start of the 2016 conference slate.

Ohio State?s 2015 conference schedule will also include home games with Penn State, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Indiana and road contests at Minnesota, Illinois and Michigan.

The 2016 schedule features Ohio Stadium games against Purdue, Illinois, Minnesota and Michigan and road games at Michigan State, Penn State, Wisconsin and Indiana.

I like 2015 a lot: 2 ooc games against BCS schools. That should be the case every year: one top 15 (or higher) opponent and one average (but respectable) opponent.

I assume the TBA date is being held for whichever in-state school would like to step on up and get their cranium cracked that year.

Why would they keep Nebraska out for two successive two-year hiatuses?
Because since you have to play the other five teams in your division every year, you can't work in all six teams in the other division on just two schedule rotations because of the locked in game with Michigan. Only way to eliminate that problem is get rid of the locked in opponent from the other division or up the conference schedule to at least nine games.

Going to have to give knapplc points for his answer on this one.

What I find most annoying about Bleacher report is the way they list a story in my e-mail....Like "Buckeyes catch a break in schedule"... typically I never find anything that remotely resembles what the link implies...however from the CPD..and Doug L. I see this....

For the stretch from 2013 to 2016, that break for Ohio State will be with Nebraska.

http://www.cleveland.com/osu/index.ssf/2012/05/big_ten_football_schedules_for.html

Now while I've read this just once...I can't really tell if he's saying..."we get lucky" in not having to play Nebraska or if it's just a "break in the action". I'm pretty sure the latter is correct..hence my problem with BleP. Well that and the fact that anyone can write a story to suit their own needs...I wonder when Craig James the Hooker Killer is going to start writing for them.

Ohio State is hardly catching a break. Now Northwestern and Purdue... THEY are catching a break. Good grief.

Do Not Play in 2015 and 2016:
Illinois: Michigan State, Minnesota and Nebraska
Indiana: Iowa, Michigan and Minnesota
Iowa: Indiana, Ohio State, Wisconsin
Michigan: Indiana, Penn State and Purdue

Nebraska: Illinois, Ohio State and Purdue
Northwestern: Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin
