Future Football Schedules (Updated 8/31/2024)

Not only is one of my nephew's (Kendall) best friends (Taylor Oldham) playing for UCF this year, my other nephew (Alecz, Kendall's older brother) just transferred to UCF from FAMU. He should be in the band before the season starts.

Might have some visitors in town for the game against the Knights.

Confirmed by the UGA AD, Ohio State has cancelled its games against UGA in 2020-2021.

Not surprising. By that time, teams from the B1G and SEC will have 9 game conference schedules anyway.

That sucks. Even with a nine-game conference schedule, that leaves three OOC games per team that year. No reason we can't have one top-end and two no-so-great OOC opponents.

Hmm... I knew about the Tennessee cancellation this decade, but didn't even know there had been a schedule with UGA. It would've been good. We need to start raking up some W's against SEC teams.

Hopefully Urban will still be around at that time.

I am extremely disappointed in this cancellation. I love visiting UGA and was looking forward to going to this one. I agree with Mili in that even in a 9 game conference schedule that leaves room for a good home/home match-up against another big name team.

I don't like this at all. There's no reason that Ohio State can't play an intersectional marquee game every year in the context of 9 game Big Ten schedule.

I really hope this isn't a concerted move to do away with these games in exchange for 2 Fredos and an FCS team to be named later.

Why are you mad? I thought we were cancelling the one top-end team, but we just cancelled one of the not-so-great OOC games. We only have to find a MAC school to replace them and everything will be Kosher again. Sorry BigWoof

Possibly they don't want to have to play UGA and a yet to be determined Pac 12 team both of those years. I'm still disappointed by this though.

This.

Because of the new agreement with the Pac-12, there's already going to be a big boy team on the schedule that year. The other two OOC games need to be home games against body bags.

Do we know what the Pac12 team will be that year? If it's USC or Oregon, fine. I think a lot of people are not going to want to give up the opportunity to play a Texas, UGA or Oklahoma because we have Washington State or Arizona on the schedule.

I would bet the deal will be much like the ACC / Big 10 challenge in basketball, where teams of roughly equal talent will be matched up against each other, thus avoiding the OSU vs. Washington State battles.

I thought I had read that under the agreement, they were going to try to match teams of similar strength, like in the ACC-B1G Challenge in basketball. Maybe I'm mistaken there.

By the time 2020/21 rolls around, Washington State (w/ Mike Leach) might not look bad on a schedule.

Only 2 if we're committed to playing a PAC12 team. That's what I'm assuming caused the cancellation.

And yeah, this sucks. Even with playing a PAC12 team I want us to continue to play top BCS teams around the country.

Who knows which PAC12 team will be good and which will be shit a full decade from now? USC was mediocre in the 1990s while Washington was decent. Enter the 2000s and USC has returned to elite status while Washington sucks. Scheduling any team a decade down the road is a crapshoot...
