The Pinstripe Bowl was played at Yankee Stadium, outdoors in the northeast. Indy would be much more mild, and with the hotels/walkways they are building, it will be attractive to potential bowls.

You haven't lived in the midwest, have you?

Here's how their tOSU coverage went on CFN Live today.

Host Anish Shroff said :
"On Friday, Ohio State goes in front of the NCAA infractions committee, but in the meantime the NCAA is still investigating the school's football program. ESPN.com's Pat Forde reports the NCAA informed Ohio State that the ongoing inquiry could result in further allegations. Ohio State already self-imposed sanctions that includes vacating all wins from last season.

"Now, Ohio State spokesman Jim Lynch released the following statement:

'As a member institution, we are committed to working together with the NCAA to examine any information concerning potential violations of NCAA legislation. We do not anticipate discussing any additional allegations with the Committee on Infractions on Friday other than those self reported in March, 2011.'"
That gives the appearance of actual journalism - saying what the ESPN guy reported and then showing on Ohio State comment on the subject. However, their quote doesn't include Lynch's denial of what Pat Forde said, as reported in the Dispatch:

Ohio State spokesman Jim Lynch yesterday denied an ESPN report that university officials received a letter last week from the NCAA stating the football program still was under investigation.

The university has received no indications from the NCAA that it will face additional allegations or findings, Lynch said.

Lynch said that President E. Gordon Gee received a letter from the NCAA on Aug. 3, but it concerned only procedural matters about the appearance of OSU officials before the Committee on Infractions on Friday.

The letter did not make any references to an ongoing investigation of the football program, Lynch said. He added that Ohio State cannot immediately release the letter because it must first undergo legal review.

"The university has not received any additional allegations from the NCAA. " We do not anticipate discussing any additional allegations" on Friday, Lynch wrote in a statement.

Cont'd ...
Of course, that letter will soon become public knowledge, as FOIA requests have undoubtedly already been flying into tOSU like the owls once descended on the home of Harry Potter's foster parents. Ohio State said that they'll release the letter once it has finished undergoing a 'legal review".

Since Ohio State has stated that the letter that Gee received last week was about procedural issues relating to tomorrow's meeting with the NCAA, and since the location of that meeting is being withheld from the public; it's an easy leap to surmise that the letter is being withheld since it contains the location of tomorrow's meeting, and once that has occurred, the letter will soon be released for public inspection. At that point we can see if there was any truth to what Forde has said, and if not, how he reacts to that.

Meanwhile, ESPN continues to slant their coverage, although they're now trying to look like they're presenting both sides of an issue when they really aren't.

Not much difference between NY and Indi according to the US Weather Service. Average annual snowfall in Indi is 23.6". At JFK it's 22.7".
Having lived in both locals I'd say NYC and Indy are nearly the same winter weather wise. However, inland NY is MUCH more harsh than anywhere in the midwest, save northern Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota.

This [Mark May] is ridiculous. ESPN is literally hanging on to any tidbit of information they can use for headlines these days, and if they can spin it to serve their needs, they will. Getting pretty sick of the media in today's society in general, it just seems they continue to lower themselves.

Do owls descend onto foster parent's homes in either local?

And here I thought I wouldn't find the right place for this today.
