ESPN (A bunch of Death-Spiraling maroons)

Why the [censored] did ESPN text me while I was taking a nap regarding Jim Tressel's salary during his tenure at tOSU.

http://espn.go.com/college-football...-tressel-made-217m-tenure-ohio-state-buckeyes

Breaking news!!!

Former assistant coach Luke Fickell, selected to take Tressel's place as interim head coach, is being paid around $700,000 -- roughly $3 million less than Tressel made a year ago. He said on Tuesday that the money is not why he took the job.

You know, because ESPN dolts have problems determining the difference between $3.5 million and $700k...and he said money is not why he took the job? I'd love to hear the question that elicited that response.

Looks like ESPN is going after anything that is remotely related to Ohio State....

http://network.yardbarker.com/colle...pelini_denies_threatening_qb_starling/6039784

The college football season hasn?t even started and Bo Pelini's temper is still making news.

Respected baseball reporter Peter Gammons tweeted Monday that Nebraska?s coach went off on and threatened blue-chip quarterback Bubba Starling, who also is a prized baseball prospect.

Starling has a multi-million dollar offer from the Kansas City Royals and needs to decide between football and baseball by next Monday. According to Gammons, Pelini was trying influence Starling with his legendary temper.
Tweeted the reporter: "Bo Pellini going off on and threatening Bubba Starling is great news for the Royals."

But Pelini denied the accusation, saying he has been nothing but supportive to Starling and his family.

Said Pelini in a statement: "All of our interactions as a staff with Bubba and his family have been nothing but supportive, and have been very respectful from both sides. Any information contrary to that is not accurate. It is disappointing that media would comment on the situation without talking to any of the primary parties involved."

You can bet the Nebraska coach would like to go ?Pelini? on Gammons right about now.

Here is a list from last year of all the coaches who made $2 million plus last year. Some schools are not listed (such as ND and USC) because they are not public and do not have to report. I really don't understand (actually I do because it fits ESPN's agenda against OSU) as this is really a non-story as 25+ coaches given the salaries below would have made the same amount of $ that JT did. I find it interesting that the article didn't mention the $1 million gift JT and his wife gave to OSU for the library. ESPN you are truly the definition of yellow journalism... :grr:

I don't understand how this is in any way news. Tressel made a lot of money at one of the biggest football schools in the country. Shocker. I don't really know what their point is. There are coaches that make more than Tressel.

Not going to say it'll never happen, but, it'll never happen. Why? One word.

Weather.

Folks want to go where it's sunny all year around. I love Indy because my Mama is there.

Then why do they have super bowls, NCAA final fours up north?

Make it a Big Ten affiliated game and they'll have no trouble filling up the seats.

The SB this year, as well as the B1G Championship game, will have an impact as to whether Lucas Oil has a shot at getting a bowl game in the future. However...

The Pinstripe Bowl was played at Yankee Stadium, outdoors in the northeast. Indy would be much more mild, and with the hotels/walkways they are building, it will be attractive to potential bowls. They are making it so you can get from something like 12 hotels to the stadium without ever going outside. Plus putting temporary roofs on the plaza, I think it would be a huge draw.

In fact, I would make a "Lucas Bowl" the #3 B1G tie in, behind the BCS and Capital One bowl, and just ahead of the Gator/Outback bowls.

But, to get on topic...Fuck ESPiN. They have no clue. In fact, the sole reason they are covering tOSU so much is because of how popular the program is. Colin Cowherd himself said tOSU was the biggest program in college football, he compared it to an NFL team and fanbase, and said that tOSU is the biggest name/draw in CFB.

Coming from a sucker of USC's cock...interesting.
