DE/LB Nathan Williams (official thread)

What's up with him getting reps at DT?
No clue.. and apparently neither does he

"I'm still learning it. Coach puts me at D-tackle sometimes. I don't know what the heck I'm doing there. I don't play D-tackle, but I use my speed and get around blockers. I guess that helps me out more than anything," Williams said

We line up alot of our DEs at DT.. i have no clue what is the thinking behind that.. we do some wierd stuff on defense at times

Not sure what's confusing about sliding Rose & Heyward inside. They love what Williams is bringing thus far, and are trying to experiment with how he can deployed.

I haven't seen anyone confused about Rose and Heyward moving inside. Why Williams plays down there is beyond me, but if it works then don't fix it.

He answered OregonBuckeye's question without even knowing it...

I think that what's coaches are looking for. Keep the fire in the hole, Nathan, and you won't see the sidelines.

How big is he? I know he is listed at 6' 4" but he certainly does not look like that in the field.

Color me impressed. He had a hell of a game Saturday and earned MUCH more playing time IMO. Nice player.

Is this the kind of mean streak that Grad has been referring to the team needing?

Let's see how Nathan ramps it up this weekend after being sat for the Wisconsin game...

Hopefully, his shoulder is full go. Against a spread team like Purdue, we could not only use another body on the DL, but also use his speed, quickness and flexibility.

He's going to be a good one...

This might explain why our DL gets blown off the ball. Don't we have any DT's how can hold their blocks and shed them when the play is coming at them and rush the QB on passing situations?

This group of D lineman may still be a year away from being dominate.
But, they are hanging in there and showing some "push" on the offense.
Maybe they have just hit their ceiling? The effort was there at Wiscy. And they forced the last interception. So they are a factor. And Worthington is coming along nicely. Denlinger has been hurt constantly. Injuries have had an effect. Hang in there guys!

OK people, another grammar lesson. It's dominant, not dominate.

Dominate is a verb. Dominant is an adjective.

Have a nice day!

I always like to correct people's grammer and pronounciation. It is my way of showing active listening. I also never use absolutes in day to day conversation.
