Boise is a fraud. They schedule one good (but not elite) BCS team to start the season--Georgia, Sparty, VaTech. Then they coast through a schedule of punching bags with maybe one conference team that's capable of giving them a game and follow it up by going into their bowl rested and injury free.

Their coach is a fucking coward who knows that he's built a house of cards. If he wanted to compete for a national championship, he should have taken the jobs at UCLA, Ped Aggy, Aggy, Florida and earned one. But no, the potatard would rather sit in Boise and point fingers and cry like a little bitch because he's not given what he thinks is his due.

If you're comfortable with a "pretty decent" team winning the national title, the NFL seems right up your alley.

Come on the Boise team that beat Okla. was better than decent. However I will say that if Boise had gone undefeated last year..Playoff or not..They should have played for the championship instead of Bama. Sure Bama went 12-1..but they only played Ark. and LSU and split with LSU. And I don't want to hear that SEC is tougher Bullshit..The SEC teams they played were like 26 -38 vs SEC competition..and hell 14 of those wins were from LSU and ARK. So if you take away 14-2 combined the rest of the teams they played in the SEC were 12-36 against each other..yeah ok I'll give Boise the nod.

I'm not saying Boise played a tougher schedule..but come on..they didn't win their division or conference and virtually only had to play 2 games all year..and went 1-1..and got into the Championship game..Yes can't wait to see how they decide who the BEST 4 teams in the country are.

I hope the new system has very little of your big school bias. OU was hardly a toasted pastry that year and Boise State was still an "outsider" that many didn't respect. The new system needs to allow teams like this who run the table a shot at the championship. I love OSU as much as anyone but I don't buy into the whole pedigree big conference bias. Personally I think a coaches/sportswriter vote system like the old days will help determine the top 4 teams and I don't care who they are if they can win 2 games then give them the hardware.

Toasted pastries.....you sound like Gordon. Sheesh.

Would you like to see the Murderer's Row that Boise played the year they beat Oklahoma?

The very fact that your trying to argue Truck Driver U's schedule is at all similar to an SEC schedule establishes there is nothing left to talk about.

As for OU being or not being a "toasted pastry."

One team.. Boise State... is playing in their first BCS bowl game ever.. thrilled to be there...
Another team.. Oklahoma... is playing in their... what... 5th BCS bowl game, having noodled with the idea of possibly even getting a NC bid...

One team wanted to be there.. it was their "Super Bowl" .... the other did not, it was their "thanks for playing" parting gift.

Next time Ball State is 12-0, I hope you beat the drum for their stupid asses too.

I'm not..the point is that the 2011 National Champs were over rated. And with them talking the best 4 teams in the playoffs how they might pick those teams is questionable at best.

I guess I'm just a bit jaded but the way I see this happening is they'll head down to the SEC headquarters.....

mobilehome_funny.jpg

And then walk around back to the secret shed......

And choose two SEC schools, 3 if they can with their high tech refurbished BCS computers..

But hey maybe I'm just cynical that way.

Big school bias?

Dude.. if you want to talk about "bias" make the Boise's of the world play a schedule that is comparable to the "big boys." I remain unmoved by some shitty little team beating some shitty little schedule that any number of the top 15 could also run the table with. When Ohio State got to the BCS Championship game in 2007 we heard about how fucking weak their schedule was.... When Bosie gets to the Fiesta Bowl we hear about how much they "deserve" because they went undefeated...

Bias?

Little school bias.

[HorseshoeFetish] Yeah. And those idiot GMs in the NFL took four of them in the first round and one in the second.

Calling anyone on Boise's schedule this year a toasted pastry is a horrible insult to the rep Pop-Tarts have built up over the years. Raspberry Pop-Tarts would demon-fuck the last six games of Boise's schedule.
If I had meant to compare Boise State to Pop-Tarts I would have said Pop Tarts.

Believe me, I'm not one to go throwing around the word "Toasted Pastry" when I mean Pop Tart. And.. you'll never hear me say "Pop Tart" if I mean a toasted pastry. There's a big difference. It's not like all soda pop being "coke" This is serious.

Only important 3 words you said.

OU was 11-1 that year and ranked #8 going into that game. The point is they beat them as a 7.5 point underdog. Boise was undefeated going into that game. They deserved to play OU and prooved it on the field.

Yeah and the Raiders took Jamarcus Russell...your point? That pic wasn't a football assertion..it was a humorous fear of how teams would be picked for the playoffs that seem to be coming to college football.

two things...
1 - fix your quoting
2 - Stanford was 41 point dogs to USC in 2007. They beat USC on the field... USC went 11-2 that year... Stanford 4-8.

I ask you... which team deserved a BCS bid? Stanford or USC?

There's certainly more to the story that Boise beat OU. Upsets happen. Big fucking deal.
