College Football Playoff (2015-16 Season)

They apparently like utah too. Each only fell 3 spots. Maybe the committee fell asleep before the games ended

Utah only falling 3 spots is more mind boggling .....Arizona was 5-5 going into that game (2-5 in the PAC 12 only wins over the 2 worst PAC 12 teams Colorado and Oregon State)

Utah shouldn't have been dropped that far. They're now ranked below a team they beat.

As much as I hate Michigan I'm not sure I agree with that logic as Michigan the first game under a new coach is different then michigan 10th game under a new coach.

Also if we want to go by that logic once again Mother Fucking Stanford
And in their 10th game they needed double OT to beat IU...

Edit: and needed Minnesota to give them the game in their 8th game... Coming off a bye...

To me, record trumps head-to-head. Once the records are the same though, head-to-head seems like a pretty important and useful way to separate two teams. Improvement over the course of the season is pretty important too, but more so when the two teams haven't played each other. Head-to-head should trump trajectory, otherwise why bother playing the games? Besides, if Utah truly is trending downward and M*ch*g*n upward then the results over the remainder of the season should bear that out. There's no need for the polls to project that on the two teams. When the CFP committee does things like that they begin to fall back into some of the old traps of the old polls and BCS.
