It's official: Chris Petersen wants no part of stronger competition or higher expectations.

Stanford would've been PERFECT. All of the resources you could ask for, very little of the expectations and pressure that come with an opportunity like that.

I wonder if yellow Pete would have stayed had the mwc held together, and he had to face tcu, Utah and byu every year with mid major recruiting and resources. As it turned out, he'll face the bottom half of the old mwc along with a few of his former wac buddies. The press, however, will still slobber over how much they've upgraded their competition. Peterson and Kustra will continue to game the system.

wasn't he the Cleveland Browns defensive coordinator under Davis:huh:

no but

Graham began his coaching career in 1988 as an assistant at Poteet High School in his hometown of Mesquite. He later held head coaching positions at Carl Albert High School in Midwest City, Oklahoma, and Allen High School in Allen, Texas before becoming linebackers coach under Rich Rodriguez at West Virginia University in 2001.[1] The following season Graham was assigned to defensive co-coordinator.

Stanford promotes OC David shaw to be head coach

Stanford offensive coordinator David Shaw has been promoted to head coach of the Cardinal, the university announced Thursday.
Shaw was in charge of Stanford's offense for four years under Jim Harbaugh, who left last week to become coach of the NFL's San Francisco 49ers.
Shaw will be introduced at a news conference on Thursday afternoon, the university said.
A Stanford alumnus who played wide receiver for the Cardinal in the early 1990s, Shaw also was part of Harbaugh's staff at the University of San Diego.
He worked as an assistant at Western Washington and for the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Ravens.
Stanford also interviewed associate head coach Greg Roman, offensive coordinator David Shaw and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, as well as Yale coach and former Stanford assistant Tom Williams.

really didn't know where else to put this....

@PeteThamelNYT: Akron coach Rob Ianello got call he was fired while driving to NY for his mother's funeral. That's just awful.

Earlier this week, a writer from Akron Beacon Journal writer suggested that UA fire Ianello and hire Luke Fickell. Considering Ianello had 4 years left on his contract, I thought the idea was real far fetched. If this was next year, after a smooth transition, this would have been great for all parties involved.

And yeah it was shitty the way UA handled that.
