What a delightful Christmas gift from The DOLAN'S (Happy at least for now to share the same last name with them):biggrin2:

Outside looking in, I'd love to see them make a HUGE play to bring Rajai back. Probably not gonna get 40 SB's again buy who knows. That's a TON of offensive production to lose. Plus he gives you great-D in Center. Bat him leadoff or bat him 9th depending on the matchup. Most likely 9th:

1. Lindor-SS
2. Kipnis -2B
3. Brantley-LF
4. Edwin- DH/!B
5. Santana- DH/!B
6. Ramirez- 3B
7. Chisenhall- RF
8. Gomes- C
9. Davis- CF

Klubot, Carrasco, Tomlin, Bauer, Salazar

Go'in Gomes over Raj just because I want Raj, Frankie, Kip, and Brantley on base in sequence. This lineup, when healthy, and our current pitching staff healthy, trumps Boston's pickup of Sale. THE ABOVE is the best team in the American League! (JMO)

Peace

I doubt highly we sign nap now but I would be all for sacrificing some defense to get a extra battery in the line up.

Besides we got Lonnie in RF anyways
It's gonna be fun enough (not it a good way) watching Santana and EE holding down 1st. Let's not infect the competent defenders with that shit. Santana has been tried everywhere else, and it's been a grease fire.

I would like to bring rajai back honestly now, but mostly because I'm a devoted almonte hater.

EE only committed 2 errors at 1B last year.

With Napoli having what 30 some HRs? We aren't that much ahead of where we were last year. This move will look great if we can get one more stick
That will hopefully be Brantley.

Further, it's not just home runs. Encarnacion is a different problem for the opposition. He's not a guy that teams will take chances on to strike out... He's a much better all around bigger than Napoli who even when he was hot was mostly an all or nothing guy.

If you're of the opinion that Lindor was the best all around hitter in the tribe lineup last year (and I am, with Santana and Napoli being valuable power guys) the upside here is he could be the 3rd best hitter if Brantley doesn't sizemore himself.

Only and OF is gonna help and they'd have to help more than the projected platoon.

And let's face it, they just blew the budget. (and be happy they did)

I think they'd like to shop for an OF as well, but they need to get this 1B/DH thing sewn up first... Chris Carter is about the same guy.... does it matter which one you watch K 200 times?

Looks like they are going hard after Mitch Moreland, they don't want to seem to budge on giving Napoli more than 1 year.

I think he would be a good fit for the spot. But Boston is going after him hard as well which probably means they will win out in the end.
:lol::rofl:
Party at Edwin's:popcorn::beer:

It will be interesting to see if Boston makes another move now or if they still think they can win the AL even with Cleveland having Edwin.

I too would like to see the Indians bring back Davis but I just do not know if Dolan will take on any more salary. He really stepped up to the plate this time and so props to him and his minority investor. Merry Christmas Mr. Dolan.

I wonder if Dolan and Gilbert could call up Haslam and tell him how to run an organization and spend a little money.

You're right... wanting then to get 1 more stick is a pipe dream and I should be happy they went out and got another all star
Maybe the trade deadline will present an obvious need with an obvious solution, but there is every reason to believe they'll get there in buy or hold mode and that's a good thing.

As long as Boston is running David price out there... Oops.

I read a few months ago that we might not have gotten Miller if Shapiro was still the president of the Indians because he hated to depart with draft choices and probably would have never traded Zimmer or the other guys that went to New York. We probably would have never gotten Edwin if he was still with the Tribe so thank goodness he is enjoying Toronto.

I never understand front offices...I realize their objective is to be profitable but what better way then to put a good product on the field? I get it, money is cool but IMO winning is that much "cooler" in fact if you win normally money comes with it.

How any organization doesn't attack the off season and just accepts a poor product is beyond me. They may turn a profit by playing "money ball" but enjoy having 75% empty stadiums and losing once loyal fans (much like how my interest for the Indians disappeared for a handful of years after the 07 run)
