Back-to-back soul crushing wins. Yankees in five, there's always next year.Would be the most Cleveland thing ever to piss away this series after what should have been a soul crushing win in game 2.
I don't agree with throwing Bauer tonight at all. When you have a starter like Salazar that can also give us very good innings I would think you throw him tonight, and then have Bauer plus Tomlin out of the bullpen.
What was the point of having all of these starting pictures all year if we are only going to use three and Pitch them on short rest come playoffs
I'll stongly disagree with this, Salazar is the most inconsistent starter we have. There is no inbetween with him, he either totally meltsdown and gets blasted to the moon, or can maybe get you 5 innings of 1/2 run ball.
I'll take the chance of starting Bauer and maybe bringing Salazar/Tomlin in if he struggles way before starting Salazar.
I thought Clevenger was the 3rd or 4th best starter the Indians had this season so I was surprised that he wasn't a post season starter. Tito probably thinks that Bauer gives them a better chance on short rest than the rest of the rotation tonight. They have Kluber on full rest Wednesday. In a 7 game series I think they'll go with 4 starters rather than pitching everyone on short rest every game. I'd ask how Bauer did on short rest in last year, but after the finger the numbers are meaningless.
Biggest key tonight will be to hit. The Indians need to put up 4+ runs to help out the pitchers.
So Salazar fully rested isn't as good as Bauer on short rest? If this were normal circumstances I'd agree but give me the rested starter in my opinion.I'll stongly disagree with this, Salazar is the most inconsistent starter we have.
