Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

I don't see why we'd trade for Danny Green. We definitely don't need another old SG past his prime. As we learned in the Finals, those types of players are fine for the regular season and Eastern Conference Playoffs, but they don't help you against Golden State.

Meanwhile, Dan Gilbert didn't want to pay Dave Griffin, so Jimmy Butler is now off the market. Paul George is basically our only option now.

Yeah, a whole lot wrong in this post.

1. Danny Green is Jr Smith with an actual bbiq.
2. Griffin leaving had nothing to do with cash.
3. The Jimmy Butler trade had nothing to do with Griffin leaving and everything to do with the bulls not wanting love, and no team in the top 6 wanting to trade their pick for him.

Not exactly mind blowing. But I've never seen another teammate of LeBron's have the amount of chemistry Wade and James developed in Miami. Could be a good thing.
Yeah, but chemistry don't mean shit on an exercise bike. What we need is guys who can play minutes during the regular season too...Wade is more or less useless until the playoffs, if then.

Assuming GS keeps most of their team together, the only way the Cavs have a shot at taking them down is to land George imho. Not sure if Frye/Jefferson retiring opens up enough cap space but it would help...regardless, I don't see why we keep either, they looked ancient in the playoffs.

Isn't Golden State supposed to lose Igoudala?

I got a bit of the cocktease wanting Butler/George but I'll still kind of stand with my post after the Finals- the Cavs competed about as well as any NBA team could hope the last 3 games. Run it back, and see what happens.

Is Korver and Smith still under contract? I'm not sure why we'd need another PG/SG unless they planned to have Wade back up Irving. The Cavs need a SF to take some of the load off of LeBron. But Wade is one of those guys that can get hot. He can also get injured just as easily. So I see your stance.

1. I never said Danny Green isn't a smart player, but he's a 30-year-old three-point specialist. Does that move the needle? Kyle Korver didn't. JR Smith doesn't. He's a bit better than Korver and Smith defensively, but he'll still get torched by Klay Thompson. It's also worth considering how much we're giving up to get him. We're not exactly flush with assets.

2. Griffin is one of the best GMs in the league. He's gone because Dan Gilbert doesn't value GMs, and because Dan Gilbert didn't want to pay him.

3. The Cavs absolutely would've made a move by now if Griffin were still GM. In fact, he put plans in place to trade for Butler or George before he left. Kevin Love has more value than the trash the Bulls got from Minnesota, even if it required Chicago to make a second trade to see that value.

1. Perhaps you didn't bother to watch how terrible JR Smith was defensively last year, and how absolutely dumb he was on both sides of the court. Danny Green is a big upgrade, especially over korver and shumpert.

2. david griffin's salary demands had nothing to do with his removal. period.

3. You have zero evidence for this claim. the fact is that the cavs, before griffin left, shopped love around to the bulls and lottery teams, and got zero takers.

You make quite a few posts that people are supposed to take as fact without any supporting references except for possibly inside knowledge.
