Looked like ass tonight for the most part.
Their approach is self admittedly much different this season after hitting a wall in playoffs.
They’re focused on long game of season and playing best basketball at end of season rather than pushing for a historic regular season.
Multiple factors went into that but primarily, they know Darius Garland out to start year is going to cost them games, so pushing hard daily for wins, might not be worth the extra strain.
Max Strus, DeAndre Hunter, and to a lesser extent, Lonzo Ball all need eased into season. They’re injured or nursing injuries, or are significantly injury prone and need rest.
Anyways, Cavs have entered post-season last (2) years with strong teams but have been out-hustled and dominated physically by the Knicks and then Pacers.
This year they’re adjusting focus….its about being fresh late and more importantly, healthy. They’re the betting favorites to win Eastern Confernece regular season. I actually think it’s a safe bet they don’t, but finally get over the hump in the playoffs bc they’re focused on playing long game.
We’ll see….
