Buckeye Offensive Coordinator Discussion (merged)

"Uh Tress, throw the ball to um whatshisname...umm, number 7."

Sad that it may just be as simple as that, eh?

So you are saying that Jt offense is ok for those games.

Yeah apparently, he lights it up in those games, but is dormant the rest of the season. Guess it's true, he "hides" the offense until those 2 games. Cause you know, no matter if we lose the first 10 games, as long as we beat michigan, Tress is a God to Buckeye nation :wink2:

Well we sure havent thrown to ol' number 7 much have we?

Whoever's fault it is doesnt matter, still not working quite right.

You know it's funny........every team I route for, has this offense that pisses me off. The Bucks, the Steelers, hell even my old High School team.

I am cursed.

Well I have seen a good offense in more game than just those two games. He has about the same gameplan and the team executes more in those games.

I think it is funny that you dislike the steelers offense even know they went 15-1 last year. I said the other day in a thread that I would love to have an offense like the steelers b/c they are very effecient. I know Tress would love to run the ball that much.

I didnt say I dislike the steelers offense, I just said it pisses me off. And you are right, not every single game does this happen, just occassionally. Same with the Buckeyes.

The thing is, and I realize everybody keeps denying this, and sweeping it under the rug, but even in the games where we get alot of offensive yardage, points, etc.......they still look very disorganized. Especially since we went into the spread.

I would be happy if we went to Happy Valley and lost 17-10, but the offense looked very balanced and confident. Just have never seen that since Mo C left.

I love watching a great defense. Another reason I am a big Steelers fan, dont want a Boise St style attack by any means. I just want to see a consistent offense every game, that can move the ball when it needs to.

Well I have seen a good offense in more game than just those two games.

That was a joke, and more a shot against Coop than JT.

What is Elliot Uzelac doing these days.
Shining Robert Smith's shoes...

On the go:
Elliot Uzelac, who coached St. John's (Washington, D.C.) for the last two seasons, is headed back to college as Georgetown University's offensive coordinator. Uzelac, 62, went 10-9 in two seasons at St. John's. He was the head coach at Navy and Western Michigan.

What may actually be required, although it hurts to have to say it, is for Mr Daniels to be replaced or assisted somehow.
There is a definite missing link somewhere in the offensive chain, and it seems to me to always be coming back to QB play. Since Peterson arrived, look at how much better the O-line is. Same shot-in-the-arm is needed with QB coaching, IMHO.

i agree with this. I would also like to point out that Daniels is also referred to as the "passing game coordinator", whatever that title refers to. It seems two areas where there have been a lot of complaints have been in the qb development department, and in the routes that our wr's run, and the lack of slants, posts, square-ins, or basically anything that is over 7 yards and utilizes the middle of the field.
