So far in this decade, we've had 2 kids earn 3-Time All-American honors in Michael Doss and James Laurinaitis. I'm not a stats guru, so could anybody out there please help out and provide names of any other 3-Time All-Americans during this time span. I'm not saying they are the "greatest" of the decade, but it's a pretty damn impressive stat, and one I doubt they share with many since 2000.

Peace.

Define, "greatness." If being "the best" is providing armchair entertainment for me--ORD_Buckeye, then I humbly nominate this guy:

I may be biased here, but Im gonna have to go with VY. The things he did on thefootball field were amazing. Plus he had this will to not be beaten . he brought hs team back so may time when they were trailing.

Saturday vs Bama was the 1st time in 6 tries that Tebow has bought his team back to win. That the big difference so far between the 2.

Peterson as much as I hated that sooner bastard was a beast of a running back.

Bush was awesome...but would have liked to see him as an every down back.

Isn't that that punter who stabbed the other punter?

IMHO, VY wins the all-decade award, and it isn't really that close. What he did in the Rose Bowl against Michigan, against USC ... what he did in the 'Shoe. He single handedly took games over and willed Texas to victories in games that they had no business winning. Tebow is a great player and by all accounts a great person, but I don't need to look at Heisman votes or see who won the Johnny Unitas award to know that VY was among the single most dominant forces I have ever seen in college football for a two-year window; and that goes for any single player in any decade, not just this one.
Right on. This is a pretty subjective question, and to me, not about stats (otherwise Texas Tech would dominate the discussion) or hardware. No one even came close to VY when it came to being that dominant force on the field.

I'm surprised I haven't yet been called a dumbass for my suggestion of Eric Crouch.

Wouldn't be my #1 pick, but I thought that was a pretty decent choice. I was surprised it took that long for him to be mentioned. I think a lot of people overlooked him a little bit because he played so early this decade.

My line of reasoning is that those Nebraska teams were awfully average without him. He didn't have NFL talent around him at RB, WR or TE. His offensive line yielded only 3 draft picks - none of whom are still playing. His defense was decidedly not up to "black shirt" standards.

He was the cog that turned the wheel - so to speak.
