I swore to myself if I ever see Tom Luginbitch in person, I'm gonna punch him square in the adam's apple.

I wonder how that Terrelle Pryor kid is doing at Oregon, anyway, haven't heard much about him after signing day.

Tom's a [censored]in' loser.

It is just crazy the things these guys say just to get attention. Even if I was Tebow I'd be upset

That wouldn't be much of a concern of mine after leading my team to victory in the 4th quarter over the #1 team in the nation, not to mention it being the sec championship...O yea catapulting the gators to a national title game/possible heisman campaign...na doubt he gives a shit

There are several different types of greatness in the world of sports. And, in my opinion, if Florida wins the National Championship, Tim Tebow will be the best player of the decade. Why? Because he would have achieved several different levels of greatness.

As a Freshman, he was a role player. He came in during goal line sets and he had his own package of plays. He gave defensive coordinators something to think about, and he was able to generate scores at important times.

As a Sophomore, he became a superstar. He won the Heisman Trophy. He did things offensively that had not been done before. He was a one-man offense.

This year, he's a leader. His touchdown count through 13 games may be done (55 in 2007, 40 in 2008), but that doesn't really matter. 4th quarter comebacks in Conference Championship Games do.

As a True Freshman, he was one of the best role players in the nation, if not the best. As a Sophomore, he became the household name. If he wins the National Championship as a Junior, he can officially be classified as a great leader.

That being said, there are several players who were/are better in each of the individual fields I listed. Role player? Mike Nugent. Superstar? Reggie Bush. Leader? Vince Young. The point I am trying to make is that Tebow has the opportunity to be able to claim that he did it all. And that's special.

PS: I am not Gary Danielson.

great post, and i agree 100%. i can see the VY side of the coin, but if tebow wins again this year he has my vote. he does all the little things.

Vince Young. Only player on the field who never needed any help making a play. Even Adrian Peterson couldn't do anything unless the quarterback handed off to him. I swear I saw his 4th down, game-winning TD run in the Rose Bowl happen, before it actually happened. There was just this feeling that once VY had the ball in his hands, not even the '85 Bears were gonna shut him down.

Wonder how high Calvin Johnson could have been on the list with any quarterback at all instead of Reggie Ball?

I would honestly like to see some of your thoughts if this scenario plays out..Tebows doesn't win the heisman. Win's the national title, then comes back next year and either wins another heisman or national title(or both). Would that change anyone's opinion?

He'd be considered one of the best of all time with two Heismans and three national championships.

Tebow may be the most successful but he's hardly the greatest. Alex Smith would've killed if he went to Florida when Tebow did. Tebow's a solid athlete with a decent arm but he plays in an amazing offensive system with extremely gifted teammates.

Young, Peterson, Bush, Troy, plus others have been better players.
