Best College Player This Decade?

My line of reasoning is that those Nebraska teams were awfully average without him. He didn't have NFL talent around him at RB, WR or TE. His offensive line yielded only 3 draft picks - none of whom are still playing. His defense was decidedly not up to "black shirt" standards.

He was the cog that turned the wheel - so to speak.

I agree. I don't think they would have been anywhere near the Rose Bowl after the 2001 season if it wasn't for him. They won a lot of football games simply because he was on the field. I give the edge to VY over anyone this decade by a good margin, but I definitely recognize how great of a player Crouch was and how much that Nebraska team relied on him.

VY.

IMO tebow definitely belongs on the list, but just as definitely not #1. Amazing players come through in amazing times. Tebow, SO FAR (this may very well change), has been remarkably un-clutch for a heisman/maybe 2 time heisman winner. Sorry but I just don't see VY failing to convert a 4th and 1 with the game/season on the line against ole miss.

Other names...
Bush (obvious reasons, ridiculous talent)

Beanie (if not for injuries..) He is one of the most amazing blends of power and speed.. He is a stud RB + an OLineman or two.

Armanti Edwards (more of a joke, I just saw the opportunity to point out that M*ch*gan lost to Appy State. And toledo. 42-7.)

Malcolm Jenkins, Laurinaitis, AJ Hawk: 3 amazing defensive players.. Especially Jenkins IMO. Blocked punts, sacks, pick 6's, lockdown corner, 2* or 3* coming out of HS, and a nasty attitude. Gotta love him.

Calvin Johnson. I remember fantasizing about what our team in '06 would have been like if we had him on it. Troy to Ginn, Gonzo, Johnson, Robo, Hall... . Can't believe he went to Tech.. any other school...
