BCS Guru (incorrectly) projected LSU-Oklahoma State in Title Game

Again, this shouldn't be about what's fair for Okie State. They could have avoided this controversy by beating a very weak Iowa State team. If that causes them to fall to #3 in the BCS, well that's the result of their own failure to take care of their own business.

I would feel bad for LSU if they would lose to Bama in a rematch, thereby losing a national championship to a team that they had already beaten.

Under no circumstances will I feel any sorrow for Okie State. You really don't have any claim to be the best in the country when you can't beat the 8th best in your own conference.
While all of that is true, should that not be outweighed by the awesomeness of seeing this outcome again?

Eh... I don't think I could stomach an all SEC National Title game. All of the nut hugging that's going to go on in that game....

The question should be, what's fair to LSU.

LSU has already beaten Alabama once, so why should they have to play them again? Even if Alabama is the second best team (and they probably are).

This times 100. LSU took care of business, and eliminated Bama (or the game should have eliminated Bama at least). Rematches favor the team that lost the first game. LSU should not have to reprove that they are better than Bama.

Yeah, we both don't want the rematch, just for different reasons.
I'd rather see Okie state too. I guess the only question is, since the revulsion at the BCSCG being an SEC slobberfest will be epic, would that game be the thing that tips the scale to a playoff or plus one/two format, and thus a necessary evil needed to be suffered through in order to change the system?

I almost hope they let em play..And it has the worst ratings in BCS history..maybe it could lose money. And then an actual news agency uncovers some dirt on the whole process and espn is found guilty of stupidity...among other things!:tongue2: Oh and then every other conference just boycotts espn....Oh wait was this thread about?

This thread was intended to be about who will be BCS #2 tonight, and the specifics of how that will happen.

BTW, I now think the BCS Guru will be incorrect, and that he probably factored in how much website traffic he could generate today into his prediction.

Well, I want OSU in as well.

Only the media and Alabama fans want a rematch. I'm surprised it's going to be this close - I figured if OSU took care of business in Bedlam, there would be a bigger shift towards them. Which is why I feared Oklahoma would pull out the win last night and doom us all to the rematch (really no avoiding it if that situation had occurred, I think - who else besides OSU could plausibly claim the #2 spot?)

That was my feeling as well. Oklahoma State put to rest some of the bad talk about their defense and how it wouldn't stand a chance against LSU.

My question is, has LSU played a team with a dynamic QB and a dynamic WR like Weeden and Blackmon? My answer is no. I think it'd be a closer game than what many think. I see a game similar to Oklahoma-Florida Title game.

There was an interesting point brought up last night. Whether or not voters take into consideration the tragedy that hit the Okie St. community the same day i believe that they lost to Iowa St. Voters may feel that losing a coach in the Okie St. community had a large effect on how the football team played and may give them the benefit of the doubt.
