Don't punish the second best team in the country just because, by fluke, they happen to be in the same conference division as the best team in the country. Bama played LSU to a dead draw in regulation...hard to argue they're not the true #2 team in the country. I'd rather watch LSU's defense try to contain Okie State's offense in the NCG, but I don't think that's going to happen.

Think back to The Game in 2006. Say the late hit on Troy had occured earlier and knocked him out of the game, and Michigan rallies to win. Wouldn't you have said at that time that we deserved a rematch against Michigan in the title game?
Rematches happen all the time in the pros, and in other college sports. It just happens we'll not happy with a potential LSU-Bama rematch because 1.) They're two SEC teams, and: 2.) Their first game sucked.

Alabama lost at home...Oklahoma State lost on the road. I just think Oklahoma State vs. LSU makes a lot more sense.
LSU is the best team in the country. I think people give Alabama too much credit for their loss. If they lost at LSU i'd be all for the rematch, but the game was at home. They don't deserve another chance when there is another deserving team. If Alabama was clearly more deserving and better than Oklahoma State, then I'd say fine...but it doesn't seem clear at all, so the logical choice is to choose Oklahoma State instead of choosing the rematch.
Why is it "Unfair"? Wasn't it the purpose of the BCS to match the two best teams? So at least say that you do not care if the two best teams play for the BCSCG, it is more important for a team who does not win a conference championship to stay home...or for a team not to have to beat the same team twice.NFBuck;2056889; said:Worst part is...how is this fair to LSU?

That is cool. I would buy that if it is your goal. But the BCS was created with one goal in mind: pairing the two best teams. The argument should be narrowed to whether Bama is one of the two best teams. You do not change the purpose of the BCS system in week 14.
Well, conveniently, I fall into the "if you don't win your own conference (let alone division), you shouldn't play for a NC" crowd. If a conference title isn't really all that important, then just do away with the damned automatic qualifier nonsense and spare us the Big East sacrificial lamb every year...Gatorubet;2056894; said:Why is it "Unfair"? Since I just saw the SEC championship game yesterday and Alabama was not participating in it I know they are, at best, the 3rd place team in their own conference. As such, it is impossible for them to be one of the two best teams in the country.
Leagues have chosen to have "championship" games. I think they need to be held accountable to them.
