BCS Guru (incorrectly) projected LSU-Oklahoma State in Title Game

Oklahoma State v LSU = Jake watches game

Alabama v LSU = Jake does something else

The SEC created a system where the two best teams in their own conference don't meet to settle the conference title, and they're supposed to get rewarded for it?

Sorry, someone else can watch that shit.

+1

I will be doing much more productive things if the rematch happens, and based on what's blowing up my Facebook feed, a lot of my friends will be as well. If the BCS knows what's best for them, they'll find a way to avoid the rematch.

Further expounding upon this, what happens when TSUN/Ohio State go undefeated up until the season finale against each other, and one team wins the regular season matchup while the other wins the conference title game?

We storm Delany's office until he puts both schools in the same division?

Sorry, someone else can watch that [Mark May].

I would hope that everybody outside of Special Education Conference homers boycotts the telecast if it's a rematch. I know that I won't be watching.

Out of curiosity, are the final coach's poll ballots being made public this year?

Jake says "I told you so", having said the day the divisions were announced that such an arrangement makes the regular season game MEANINGLESS. Some were too busy drinking Gee's "we want to beat them twice" bullshit flavored Kool Aid to actually contemplate such an outcome.

Conference championship games have little to do with actually crowning a champion.

I've hated the divisional set-up from the beginning.

Crunching the numbers for the scenario where OKie State is ahead in 4 of 6 computers.

If Oklahoma State is ahead in 4 of the 6 computers
(likely the case, since Sagarin has Bama at #2), they'll need to be ahead of Bama in at least an average of 37.5% of the votes in the human polls, rather than just 25%, which was the case if they were #2 in 5 (or 6) computers.

It would be a dead heat if Oklahoma State was #2 and Alabama #3 in 4 of the 6 computers (high and low are thrown out); and Alabama was #2 and Okie St #3 in exactly 62.5% of the human votes, with the remaining 37.5% having it flipped. That's with LSU being #1 in every computer and for every voter (which they are now), and with no other team getting into the top 3 in anything.

Team....Computers..Coaches..Harris..Total (average of the 3 columns)
Okla St...950.......935......935.....940
Alabama...930.......945......945.....940

If the computers are split 3-3, then Oklahoma State needs 50% of the human votes, since they would completely decide it if the computers gave both teams a .940.

Coaches poll has bama at .948 and okie st at .933

1. LSU (1475)
2. Alabama (1399)
3. Oklahoma State (1367)

Come on Harris Pollsters...no one outside of Bama wants to see a rematch

The NC game has essentially become the best of the SEC vs. the best of the rest, which has a certain appeal to it. If they're now going to just make it a +1 for the SEC regular season, then I think they're going to open up a shitstorm that's probably best left alone.

Sure hope so. USA today has had the results online in previous years. It's ridiculous that such biased sources can impact who goes to the championship game. Bama/Okie are 7 points away from being #2/#3 on every ballot. Would be interesting to see who voted those teams below #3.

Honestly not sure where you got this sentiment. VERY few people on here and anywhere were in favor of the splitting of tOSU and scUM.
