2022 College Football Polls

I guess they kind of have to ignore bad defense this season since a good amount of the contenders have them.

Georgia, Ohio State & Michigan are the only true CFP contenders in the top 25

LSU is 35th, Clemson is 37th, not terrible, but nothing great either.

The Pac 12 is beyond awful defensively. To the point where it makes you question how good the offenses really are. Guys like Bo Nix and Michael Penix who are historically mediocre-bad at other places come in and start putting up crazy numbers.

Not sure how anyone could watch that TCU/Texas game and say "yes TCUs defense really isnt that bad they are turning the corner" That was clearly much more bad offense by Texas than great defense by TCU.

USC closes out against three ranked teams. If they run the table, they're in.

USC should jump LSU too shouldnt they? They played fucking UAB and USC beat a ranked team on essentially a neutral site albeit UCLA doesn’t truly have a real fan base. I dunno, I don’t see how you can justify it. LSU smoking Tennessee lost some luster, so

They should. At this point in the season, I'd say that Clemson should jump Bama and LSU too. Losses should...ummm...matter? If they don't make that move then they're pretty much making the joke about SEC losses being better than other conferences' wins a reality.

I think Clemson has the inside track to the 4th spot as of right now solely because I don't think USC can run the table. If they do then the 4th spot should be theirs.

I'm just sort of girding my loins for USC and Clemson losing again and the DFBIA being the DFBIA when tsun gets the 4th spot almost by default.

Yeah. It opens up that possibility, but it's also necessary to open it up for us if the unthinkable happens next week.

Who do you think is more likely to
Make it out? TCU or USC? By default I guess I’d have to say TCU but they are both really playing with fire

this could get fucky real fast if both of them shit themselves; I could see the committee just kind of pulling teams out of a hat or throwing darts since they don’t really evaluate anything and we don’t understand it at this point

I get a very solid 2002 OSU vibe when I watch TCU at this point so I think they are going to find a way to make it in undefeated. That means I'm working off of a 1 open spot scenario and I think it's 50/50 at best USC runs the table.

Depending on what happens in The Game, the loser is going to be in a 1 loss beauty pageant with Clemson is my "most likely" scenario. The committee obviously doesn't think much of Clemson based on their #9 ranking right now and they don't have any kind of resume builder left really. Sure, they might be a conference champ but that isn't automatic (Penn State '16).

Tsun draws eyeballs. Don't underestimate them for that 4th spot (unless of course Day breaks his foot off in Harbaughs ass a la 2018).

My chaos scenario is USC, TCU and Clemson all lose again and OSU smokes tsun. Then what the fuck do we see?

Not sure any team should get a #1 vote today.. leave it blank

Yeah, nobody in the top 4 looked that good (i.e. dominate):

However, 3 teams looked "beatable" on the road, scUM did it in the BIG SHIT HOUSE....

Never miss an opportunity to say:

I think they flat out ignore bad defense for certain teams, mostly when it comes to the SEC, and Tennessee for this season.

Lots of talk about how bad TCUs defense is, but crickets for Tennessee, who statistically is worse than TCU in total D

But they need to have a second SEC team close enough to move into the final four when the Bucks tear Michigan a new asshole.
