Held on to beat a Ole Miss team that proved to be very overrated, 30-24

A terrible Auburn team, a game they didn't really even look that great in.
and a second tier bowl win over a meh Kansas State team.

A decent amount of teams probably have the same "strong finish" with that slate.

Anyone thinking this Bama team "for sure" beats any of the final 4 (including TCU) is off of their rocker

They shoulda lost to Texas
Struggled against a 7-6 Arkansas team
Came very very close to losing to 5-7 Texas A&M
Had to hold off Ole Miss late to survive that game

This Bama team was not some otherwise dominant force that just happened to hit tough luck and lose 2 close road games, they were largely unimpressive compared to prior Bama teams all year long. Of course they we are supposed to basically pretend that those 2 losses don't really count because they "barely" lost. Impressive wins were also very lacking for them this year. The "most impressive" win they had was probably against Miss State, a team who finished with 4 losses.

I don’t get the issue. They are the highest ranked 2-loss team in the final AP poll.
