2022 College Football Polls

I would have bet my left leg that the Buckeyes would drop farther than 5th in the AP/Coaches this week. Absolutely shocked they are still within a mile of the Top 4. Very interesting now to see how the committee sees it on Tuesday.

Where are they going to go?

Behind 2-loss Bama? or the much worse 2-loss Tenn, PSU, Washington?

After that you get freefalling (but not enough) Clemson and LSU.

This field is dreadful. They need Georgia chalk and 1 upset to get another shot.

They're still just a one loss team, besides Georgia, TCU and USC everyone else has at least two losses.
Well besides ttun, UGA and TCU everyone else has a loss which is soothing to think about actually. I'm getting onboard with either TCU or USC losing putting us in the conversation for 4th place. It might get ugly as shit in a playoff game but it might be a wakeup and getting to play in a dome seems to be a tonic for this team. I wont hold out hope but I'll still root like hell.

Who needs ‘Georgia chalk’?

UGA and TTUN are in whether they win or lose their CCGs, and Purdue and LSU are out.

I'd like to think so, but the winner of gods gift to football would at least receive consideration. they might just expand to 12 on the spot.

of course, uga and [usc/tcu] losing means OSU faces Michigan in the first round.

I know you’re kidding, but no 2-loss CCG winner has made the playoff yet, they aren’t sending a 3-loss LSU.

If USC and TCU both lose, it will be very interesting to see them manipulate the seedings.

Still would not be shocked at all if Bama is ahead of us in the CFP rankings.

They've beaten nobody worth a crap (Ohio States win over Ped State is much better than Bamas best win) but their 2 "close" "great" SEC!!!!11!!! losses are enough to do it.

Everyone's favorite football nerds are saying it is hard to tell if the B1G is any good because the best OSU win is against PSU and TTUN best wins are PSU and OSU while PSU's good losses are TTUN and OSU.

Which is so different than anything in the SEC because they play 8 not 9 conference games.

Bama's "good losses" are against a 2 loss Tennessee team that got blown out in both their losses, and a 3 loss LSU team that got blown out once and beat pretty good by a 5-7 team. Of course both of these teams will be ranked much higher than they probably should be though in the upcoming CFP poll. Theyll probably find a way to keep Ole Miss in the top 25 (while also adding Miss State) to make Bama look better too.

Level headed thinking would suggest that Tennessee and LSU aren't as great as they were once hyped up to be. But SEC!!! Logic is nowhere near level headed and is ridiculous and still says that LSU and Tennessee would be undefeated or only have 1 loss if they didn't have to run the GOT DAMN SEC GAUNTLET! (Same thinking with Bama)

The CFN final poll is a joke....:

2022 College Football Rankings: CFN

3 Tulane (12-2)
2022 CFN Season Score: 23.04
2022 CFN Final Opinion Ranking: 16
2022 CFN Preseason Ranking: 88
2021 CFN Season Score: 111
Best Win: USC 46-45 (Cotton Bowl)
Worst Loss: Southern Miss 27-24

Quality Wins. Tulane had eight of them including the shocker over USC in the Cotton Bowl. The thrilling comeback was enough to count in several categories to move up into the top three – it would’ve been just inside the top ten with a loss. That, the win over Big 12 Champion Kansas State, and those six other wins over teams that finished with a winning record were enough to overcome rough losses to Southern Miss and the first time around against UCF.

4 Ohio State (11-2)
2022 CFN Season Score: 22.37
2022 CFN Final Opinion Ranking: 4
2022 CFN Preseason Ranking: 2
2021 CFN Season Score: 7
Best Win: Penn State 44-31
Worst Loss: Michigan 45-23

The team might have been a field goal away from almost certainly winning a national championship, but there weren’t quite enough big victories to get the No. 3 spot.

The two losses to finish up the season might have been Elite – losses to teams that finished with two losses or fewer – but that’s offset by the Bad Wins over Arkansas State and Northwestern and the lack of Quality Wins.
