2017 College Football Playoffs (and Other Bowl Games)

osu vs. usc on saturday (12/30) at 4 with no other games on at the same time will produce mass tv ratings.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.... only day I work that entire week. I'm walking out of that place @ 345 no matter what. Usually we leave early during the holidays but I'm not staying there til 6. Sorry, I know you guys don't care about this but I have to bitch about it somewhere.

It wasn't just one 31-point loss. Last year's giant steamer at the hands of Climpson played into our failure to make the grade.

I still think 4 teams is right.
In my head I think they got it right but I just absolutely hate both the double speak and the bullshit rankings. Clearly the committee didn't think Wisconsin was one of the four best teams in the country. So why have them ranked there? I mean, if OSU beat Georgia by 6 and not Wisconsin, who do you think gets in then?

If you tell me a week earlier that the separation between Alabama and Ohio State is razor thin logic should dictate that a win over a playoff caliber team should get OSU in. All the committee had to do was say the margin between OSU and Alabama wasn't all that close LAST week. Hell all they really had to do was put Wisconsin 10th and OSU 12th or something like that.

At the end of the day the committee handled this incredibly poorly.

The committee has shown the most important thing is the eye test. Throw out strength of schedule, quality wins, and conference championships. Gary Danielson's eye test is what matters

This year yes, but where was eye test in 2015? That OSU team was the best team in the country, at the very least top 4. That's why I am sick and tired of this 4 team crap. I would even accept 6, but it should be 6 or 8, then the committee can apply their flawed reasoning a little more fairly at least to teams that truly matter.

Let’s get Citadel on the schedule in November. Obviously non conference schedules don’t mean [Mark May] either.

I’m just kidding, only pussies play cupcake non conference games in November.
That does raise an interesting issue though...they should mandate that every power 5 play the same number of conference games. That Mercer game should have been an SEC game...even if it was Missouri or Kentucky. Only the SEC and ACC still play 8

In 2015 we were left out for pretty much the same reason Bama got in this year. If there is no consistency on how they are going to decide, at least make it so that their inability to decide the criteria only affects teams outside of 8.... there is always going to be controversy.

Bama got in this year for pretty much the same reason we got in last year. Which, given our awful performance, did us no favors this year.

Ohio’s BCS team hates the playoff

What's funny about Ohio's BCS team is how much rage they still feel towards Dantonio-Kelly-Jones. I've never seen that among mid-majors who lose coaches. It's as if Ohio's BCS team really thinks that they're big time and coaches leaving splashes the water of reality onto their delusional faces, which of course ruins their juggalo makeup too.

I don’t think any team competing for a National Title should be eligible for the playoffs if they play a fucking FCS team in November. That shit is weak. It won’t change until they stop dropping to their knees for the SEC, either. They know they don’t need to play anyone non-conference since they’ll get special treatment from the committee.
