2017-2018 Ohio State Men's Basketball (24-7, 15-3, #2 Seed in B1G Tourney)

Inexcusable. Always.

And it's Bucks with a capital B. Hahahaha.

It is an exciting time for men's hoops for sure. Hop back on the bandwagon buddy, there is always room.

Ha! I did capitalize it later in my inexcusable post. I also don’t know anything about who and when the baseball team plays. If there is a baseball team...

Can't let up with Maryland coming in on Thursday, they are another team that looks like a possible bubble team, right now they sit at 35 in Kenpom (Ohio State is 33) at 14-4 (3-2)

Without checking the facts, I thought the recap of the MSU game said OSU was 4-0 in B1G play. What is the (3-2)?

Edit: Never mind, that is Maryland.

Thanks. I’ll learn how to read tomorrow.

kenpom now has us at 37. If we were to "hold serve" in conference, we'd lose 4 games the remainder of the season: Sparty, at Purdue, at Michigan and at Ped State, for a final record of 23-8 (14-4 in conference). That would likely get us in the Dance, and 3rd place in the B1G.
I know a lot of this is statistical but I think kenpom and the other guys that do these kind of ratings should wait until the middle of the season before doing their ratings because it really does not I mean very much right now and yesterday's game was a proving point.

so we are 13-4 and the 4 losses are to: (AP ranking/RPI/kenpom in parentheses)

Gonzaga = (14 / 65 / 9)
Clemson = (19 / 5 / 15)
UNC = (20 / 8 / 12)
Butler = (NR / 26 / 38)

OSU = (NR / 25 / 33)

Must have been my imagination but I guess that Butler did not beat now ranked #1 Villanova. I guess this is one of the reasons why I say that these rankings along with the statistical ones do not mean crap until at least midway through the season if not until the end of the season.

The rest of the schedule is VERY favorable

The 2 teams i'd call the "best" we only play once, MSU and Purdue. And we already secured a marquee win vs MSU

Michigan and Maryland are the toughest remaining games at this point, based on performance so far.

5 of the remaining 14 are against the current conference bottom dwellers (Rutgers X2, Illinois, Iowa and Northwestern) MSU may be the only marquee win, but as long as they avoid losing any of these games theyll avoid pretty much any real bad losses.

If they beat Maryland at home Thursday and Rutgers on Sunday they should be in the top 25 next week.

I am getting to the point where rankings do not mean anything in basketball or football until the end of the season and I am not sure about football with only 4 teams in the playoff. At least they are many more teams in the basketball tournament so there is little room for error in leaving out the best team. Even seedings did not mean that much anymore because basketball has gotten so much more balanced over the years.
