2017-2018 Ohio State Men's Basketball (24-7, 15-3, #2 Seed in B1G Tourney)

Something to chew on regarding last year if Bates-Diop would not have broken his leg. It makes you wonder if Ohio State would have made the Dance if Matta would still be around. I know that recruiting was terrible but it would been awfully difficult to fire a coach who had just gotten his team into the tournament.

I love Thad, but I don't believe for a moment he would have gotten out of this team what Holtmann is getting.

(let's throw Kam back in the mix after today)
kam since the 1-3 performance in the pk80 (9 games): 10.6 points per game on 59% (16/27) shooting from three and 49% (17/35) inside the arc.

though he hasn't exactly filled the stat sheet otherwise, kam's shooting has nonetheless been invaluable. to be sure, he's capitalized after being reinserted. it's hardly shocking that osu's sole loss during that span was when kam didn't score.

It's strange to think about where the program would be had KDB not gotten injured last year. I expect they would have snuck into the tourney as a 9/10/11 seed and I can't imagine Matta being replaced after making the tourney. Just an odd thought.

I used to watch every Buckeye basketball game. At the end of the Matta era, the teams became such an exercise in frustration that I couldn't bear it anymore. I'm still processing my emotions regarding Thad's dismissal, but it's starting to look like it was the right move. We haven't had a win like this in years.

The Buckeyes are back.

I am a naturally 51/49 pessimist. I’ve lost interest in the program over the last few dreadful years. Call me a fair weather or whatever you will. I didn’t even know the Bucks had a game yesterday. I just happened to catch it because it came on after that wildly entertaining () Jags vs Bills game on CBS. Consider me impressed and excited about this team’s future. There are still going to be some major bumps in the road but that road is going to be a fun one. His was the first full basketball game I’ve watched since March. I actually enjoyed watching this team for the first time in a long time and it brought back some good memories of watching the Bucks play some really good basketball on a Sunday afternoon.
