2013 tOSU Offense Discussion

I believe this offense is as good or better than Texas of 05 with Vince, and I don't think there's a defense out there as good as tOSU's was that year. The Bucks can play with, and beat, ANYONE this year. If the D continues to improve, this team has the ability to embarrass some teams that many think are better. The worst scenario for the rest of CFB is for tOSU to be undefeated and left out of the NCG. Good luck beating tOSU with a chip on their shoulder next year.

For me, one of the most encouraging things this year is seeing how productive the 2nd team OL has been. Especially over the last couple of games these guys have been playing lights out and doing well against the opponents first team Defense. One guy that I wasn't sure of that has really impressed is Tommy Brown. I have to be honest that I thought he might never see the field but he has played both RG and RT and done well in both positions. He is a road grader at RG.

In addition we really haven't seen Lisle or Dodson much (if at all) and those two are probably the ones with the highest ceilings. What was a major concern for next year is becoming less and less a concern the more I see them play. I also have a feeling that the 2nd team may see some more significant playing time against our next three opponents.

GO BUCKS!

I have little to no concern about the OL moving forward. It seems we have one of, if not THE best OL coach in the nation. I love how they aren't subbing individuals much, but rather swapping the whole unit. That's why I wasn't upset at all about Decker being in the game when he was injured. I imagine he'll be responsible for making calls next year as the lone returning starter. I can't remember the last time the 2nd string line got this many live snaps as a whole unit. That was a frustrating casualty of Tressel ball. Second stringers got pt, but rarely as a unit. The way things are going now is the way you get the stud OL to stay home. I love it.

I listen to College Football radio on Sirius. It's on all the time. Tim Brando said this morning something to the effect of "OSU would be blown out" by any of the top teams which, to him included Baylor. It was hilarious to me. Never before has someone seemed more like an entertainer and not a knowledgeable commentator. We don't have the same defense we had when we beat Oregon in the 2010 Rose Bowl but our offense is certainly better. In that game, I don't remember a single person thinking tOSU had a chance to win. So when idiots like Brando make a blanket statement that we don't belong with any other the "elite" teams I just have to smile.

What's even more hilarious is that if you took the entire tOSU offensive roster and Urban and transplanted it to UF, they'd be ranked in the top two and that douche would be talking about how impressive they are.

Also, Fat Brando was already exposed for a moron by folks on Twitter for attacking Urban.

Living here in Florida as I do, I watched a lot of the Gator games under Urban and when he had
Chris Leak & Tebow , as his 2 QB's, I thought that was a dynamic duo. That was proven to us Buckeye
followers as we witnessed the 2007 Natl/Champ game. The Gators also had a great defensive back named
Joe Haden then.

Now looking at the tandem of Miller & Guiton in our offense with Hyde back there, yeah I agree with your
transplant thoughts in this post would be a great thing to look at. And how about our secondary with a
healthy Christian Bryant & Roby roaming the field WOULD have been great. Too bad Bryant had to go down though. I hate living here and having to put up with the Gator people and the SEC braggarts. I hope someday we can see the Buckeyes winning some N/C's under Urban and lifting the BIG to some prominence
to the level of the SEC. And I can't stand Sabin. "Go Bucks"

What the insulant media is trying to do, is lay the ground work for a case against Ohio State next year that no matter what, they (notice I said "they" and not "we"..) do not belong in the 4 team playoff for the NC. I don't understand what their major concern is. If the Bucks are the crap team the media thinks they are, then Ohio State will be exposed for everyone to see, but if not and we beat those teams.. then they (the media) should shut their pie hole.

Yeah there's no flippin way anyone that profits from the playoff would want an undefeated tOSU left out. The last thing they want is for a Baylor or someone similar not selling their ticket allotment for a game played 1000mi from home. Putting tOSU in all but guarantees that the game is a sellout with great tv ratings. Don't believe the hype. The playoff is just as much about $$$$ as the BCS ever was.

Yep, and just wait until 5-10 years down the road when the playoffs expand to 8, 12, or 16 teams...

I just can't wait til one of the SEC teams has to come to the Shoe for a playoff game. Then we will see who has the best stadium, fans and team in the country when the "bowl" game isn't played on their home turf.

I'll cut my left arm off for a ticket to that one as well so everyone better start saving their pennies now.

Is that actually possible? Can Columbus host a playoff game in the future?
