2013 tOSU Offense Discussion

Is that actually possible? Can Columbus host a playoff game in the future?

It'll be a while before that's a possibility with the way the playoff system is currently setup. And I honestly don't think it'll change much more when/if its expanded, just use more bowl game destinations I.e.: the cotton bowl, Dallas cowboys stadium, etc
And With the money Osu generates, i see no way voters keep us out, if we're undefeated. They would want us in the worst way, IMO.

I had originally read that the first round would be played at a home stadium. Now Fox Sports has said that they are going to bowl sites. Thats some bullshit. So, even if we have a playoff system, the south will still get home-field advantage for the playoffs. Why not Lucas Oil? Why not the SilverDome or whatever it's called in Detroit? I'm talking semifinal game though not the final. Why can't we get someone in the league chair with some balls! Yes, I'm looking at YOU Delaney. I digress.

Back to Buckeye Offense which is fantastic btw!

Not sure if serious. But..... the higher seed gets the home game in the earlier rounds from what I've read. The final ends up being in a major bowl game like it is now.
Lol.. If that's the case, they will make sure we are a lower seed. Even with a 1 loss SEC or PAC12 team lol.

As for the Buckeye offense.. What more is there to discuss? The Buckeye O Kick Buttowski baby! Man it's fun to watch.

A lot of the national talking heads are erroneously confusing the 2013 Buckeyes with Jim Tressel Buckeye teams......and the difference is staggering.

Unfortunately, unless something crazy goes on in the next few weeks, we will likely have to undefeated for 3 CONSECUTIVE YEARS to get the opportunity to play in the NC game.

Oh that's exactly what will have to happen. Especially if the top 4 teams remain undefeated. And if Oregon loses Alabama will play for a NC before us. We were destined for a rose bowl at best this year, IMO. The media is still sore about tat gate, as well the 2 NC loses. And I'm sure they feel if we play Alabama it'd be a similar outcome.

I'm not saying it's impossible for the undefeated teams to remain undefeated. However, it would be far crazier for there to be five teams from BCS conferences to be undefeated after conference championship games than for a one loss team to play in this years BCSNC. In 2007, tOSU was #1 with two games left. After losing to Illinois, at HOME, tOSU dropped to SEVENTH with one game left. No conference championship for the B1G at that time either. Yet because CFB is the most unpredictable sport on earth, tOSU managed to play in the NC because everyone else lost in the FINAL WEEK OF THE SEASON.

All tOSU has to do is win out. That's it. Forget style points, forget the ESPN morons, forget the Baylors and just.keep.winning.

If tOSU doesn't play in the NC, then this offense will go turduckin apeshit on someone in the Rose, and they won't be able to keep us out next year.

http://buckeyextra.dispatch.com/content/stories/2013/11/10/offense-soaring-in-meyers-2nd-year.html

Ohio State is ranked fifth in scoring this year. Bowling Green and Utah were third in UFM's second year.

You just develop them — especially if you take over from a completely different system, it takes them a while to understand what you’re trying to get done,” Meyer said. “Obviously, there are good players here. It’s Ohio State. But it’s just the knowledge of the offense.
“This time last year, I was convinced our quarterback position really didn’t understand pass protection, mind-boggling when you think about it. Now he knows everything about it.”
