2013 Preseason and regular polls

Let's see how the top teams have done over the last two years:

Auburn 14-10

Missouri 16-8

OKIE ST 19-6

Stanford 22-4

Oregon 22-3

LSU 19-6

BAMA 24-2

FSU 24-2

tOSU 24-0

Only one team on this list that has won EVERYONE of their games thus far. But according to some (wishful thinking) they are at risk of being jumped by a team that has been 14-10 over the last two years (thus far) and lost to a team with 3 losses this year. Right.

If they do their business, FSU and tOSU are the most worthy teams to compete in the National Championship game.

I like the fact we're getting disrespected.... I like the fact that everyone is saying we're going to lose and we shouldn't be in the title game... This team doesn't handle success, be favored, being expected to win big well.. It does handle being pissed off and the underdog well.

Also not sure if it was this thread but someone said something about the underdog winning in all 3 of tOSU's BCS champ game appearances. The Favorite won in 07.

I agree with your last sentence. However, what happened last year is irrelevant. Based on that logic, Ohio State had no business being in the 2002 national championship game coming off an unranked 7-5 season in 2001.

When is the last time that Ohio State has been the underdog? Certainly not this season. Ohio State has gone 12-0 as the favorite (straight up, not against the spread), so we can't really say that they don't handle success well, or that they thrive in the role of the underdog.

I guess my comment was more towards this season and playing with motivation and looking as dominate as possible. I was mainly thinking of after the 2 good games (against very bad teams, PSU & Purdue) the way they came out in Illinois. I don't live near Columbus so I'm not sure if they were getting the pats on the back like many of us here were giving them after those two games. They wont be underdogs unless they play Bama or FSU in the title game but the disrespect from the national media I think will serve them well this week and in the future

I concur. My reason for posting a 2 yr. synopsis was to give perspective that like some of the other teams we are not a one year wonder. As a matter of fact, other than Fickel's year as HC since 2002 tOSU has been one of the most dominant and winningest teams in CFB. This will mark going undefeated in three regular season games in about 10 years time. Simply put: We deserve to be ranked where we are.

Paul Finebaum just got a call from Tammy. Well, to be fair, it was her second call, because the first time she called, she was on the toilet and she was unintellgible. Now she is proving to be a true class act by talking about how much Auburn deserves to be in the NC game instad of Ohio State.

I picture Finebaum wearing a velvet smoking jacket, sitting in a $4,000 Eames Lounge Chair, listening to Miles Davis (or maybe a little Shostakovich) and drinking 50 year old Armagnac out of a Waterford cut crystal snifter and sporting an ear-to-ear shit eating grin thinking about the grift that he's pulled over on these rednecks to make him a millionaire. He probably doesn't even watch football and favors cricket and F1.
