I'm glad everybody else has confidence. I don't think our D is suited for this offense at all. We're going to have to score into the 30s to win this game. Hope Pryor's up for it.

BTW, I hate watching these kinds of gimmicky offenses. If they put points on the board, it's going to make me hate it even more.

edit: ah [censored]....gotta change my icon. too much green.

All I can say to that is...that's exactly the way I felt last year when the Bucks faced Texas. And this years defense is better than last years. So who knows. Obviously, our offense has to score some TDs, but I think our defense will rock Oregon's world.

[censored] a duck. [censored] that cheap ass Donald Duck knock off, and [censored] Phil Knight. Bucks by 14.

Agree with all sentiments. Only one caveat: the UO mascot is not a knock off. It's the real thing. Some sort of agreement from back in 1960 or something where Disney allowed Oregon to use the real Donald. Truthfully, that actually makes me like him less since he's not original to the school.

Its going to be tough for Oregon to crank out a ton of yards/points when our running game keeps them off the field and keeps that clock ticking.

If we turn this into our type of game, we'll frustrate their offense. They'll have less possessions and they'll try to do too much. We'll force turnovers and milk the clock on offense. And when they do move the ball, we'll display that typical bend-but-don't-break defense.

All we need to worry about is ball security and we win this game in Tressel style.

People are going to spend most of their time talking about Oregon's offense vs. Ohio State's defense, but the reverse matchup might be the one that has the greatest bearing on who wins this game.

This is my thought as well. (Therefore, I think it's good analysis.)

Many people make broad brush statements such as, "They don't play defense in the Pac10," and I suppose we ought to be careful when making generalizations. But, after watching the game last night, I was amazed at the lack of discipline by both teams on defense. I agree with JLB and think the better story might be how tOSU offense will perform against the Oregon defense.

The defenses I saw on TV last night reminded me of TSUN's defense sans B. Graham. They were fired up, occasionally made a big stop, but often missed assignments, took bad angles, and tackled poorly. Also, a fair amount of speed on D, but also undersized in places.

The Buckeye offense will have opportunity. To help get me through the next four weeks, I trust we'll have some good discussion analyzing the matchups. Specifically, tOSU offense vs. the Ducks' D.

Oregon's a different team away from Autzen. Both losses came on the road this year, and it seems that Masoli really feeds off the crowd response.
that, and all the false starts. also, I think Oregon's first sack came right after a false start call where the tackle looked like he was waiting an extra second to move just so he didn't get called for a false start.

they won't have that in Pasadena.

Add to that: Have the Ducks faced a QB at all this year who could really beat them with his legs? Washington had Jake Locker, but from what I saw he was more of a pocket passer this year than in the past. Utah's Terrance Cain led his team in rushing against the Ducks, but he doesn't strike me as the dangerous type. He had 41 pass attempts in that game, so I wonder how many of his 16 carries were scrambles vs. designed runs. Oregon's sometimes out-of-control play on defense looked like it gave up running lanes and big scramble opportunities to the QB last night, but Canfield is brutal when he pulls the ball down and tries to run. Pryor is going to get plenty of rest for the things that were ailing him at the end of the season, and I think we're going to see him make several big plays with his feet against the Ducks.

Rose Bowl Game History - Tournament of Roses

If we can run the ball, move the chains, and control the clock, we should do well. Throw in a couple turnovers and I see us winning. If we turn the ball over a couple times, it could be a long day for the good guys.

I think that Oregon's Offense is similar to Texas last year. But Oregon does not come close to Texas D last year and that could be the difference in the game.

ROSES BABY!!

When i watched Oregons offense i was kind of comparing them to the style of offense we watched against Navy and is that a good thing or will we have trouble keeping Masoli in check. He seems to be the catylist there and as for
Legarette maybe we can handle him but its like a whole new look with him being back in the scheme of things.
