2005-2006 Latest Men's Basketball Rankings (Currently #6)

you can complain when it stops coming true.
They also have an NC in baseball and women's track & field I believe. I really doubt they win the NC this year in men's b-ball this year though.
both were last year IIRC... but ESPN's hype is giving them credit for having them all in one year. Still impressive tho.
The highest the Bucks will end up would be 5 if we win out and go deep into the Big-10 CC. They will not slide ahead of Duke, Uconn, Memphis, or Zaga.
I wouldn't rule it out just yet... gonzaga and memphis both make each other look good, but the bulk of their schedule is cupcake city. The buckeyes will have a tremendous RPI if they win out.

No way Gonzaga is seeded above the Buckeyes. Their RPI is too low, thanks to the Division III conference they play in. We would have a lot fewer losses if we played Capital, Wittenberg, and Otterbein in-league.

We will be either the lowest 1-seed or highest 2-seed, assuming we win the last regular season game and the B11 tourney. Either of these does not happen, and all bets are off (though if we get to the tourney finals I think we have a 2-seed wrapped up).

I will once again state what I'm saying in all threads since this topic is showing up everywhere.

As of now, we have a 95% chance of being a #2 seed assuming we beat Purdue.

The chances of a #1 seed are very very low at this point.

Yeah, you didn't play Capital, Wittenberg, or Otterbein in-league.....you played them OOC.

Gonzaga has the countries second best player, OSU doesn't. Gonzaga is a media love fest, OSU isn't. Gonzaga is a #1 seed, OSU isn't.

I'd be willing to put some mad vCash that Gonzaga, even if they win out and their tourney, is NOT a number 1 seed. The committee has never given them above a 3 even then they've been ranked this high before. Never underestimate the committee. They know what they are talking about. Gonzaga will come into the tourney having not played a decent team since December. You can't substitute the experience of playing a full major conference schedule and how that helps prepare for the tourney. The committee knows that, and Gonzaga will be, at best, a 2-seed.
