2005-2006 Latest Men's Basketball Rankings (Currently #6)

Man, I really would not want to match up against LSU again..........those guys are a dangerous tourney team.

Agree that LSU could be a tough tourny team, but I think there is not a 3 seed out there that anyone would consider an easy out (bracketology has NC, ILL, TENN, & LSU as 3).

I think the most important thing would be to win these last 2 games & win at least one game in the B10 tourny to maintain the 2 seed. The road gets a lot tougher from the 3 or 4 spot. The second round would be Wichita St. vs a team like Georgetown or Boston College. I don't know much about Wichita, but Georgetown & BC seem dangerous.

I still have a hard time believing that GW is a top 10 team with that schedule...

They have played 2 ranked teams, defeated then #17 Maryland 78-70 and losing at then #18 NC State. The rest of their schedule is nothing but cupcake.

Ah, I wouldn't worry too much about it--they'll be exposed for the overrated frauds they are in the tourney, just like the second place Pac-10 teams are in the Holiday Bowl every year.

Hey, but where's the love? #8 and only a handful of votes above Pittsburgh? I think we still have upside potential.

Win out guys and you'll be top 5.:oh: :io:

By the way, just a quick one, I was wondering if something might be wrong with my rankings? They seem to have left Wake Forest out of the top 25? Is that possible? :slappy:

From what I understand of the pod system, and I could be way off base here, is that the various sub sites are no longer tied to a region anymore. So OSU could placed in Dayton and play in any one of the 4 regions/cities. From what I've gathered if we are a top 4 seed we're guaranteed to be playing close to home, and I would assume out of that we would end up in Dayton no matter what at this point barraing some unforeseen disaster.

That sounds right to me.

When did the new system go into effect? I remember we were sent to New Mexico as a four seed a couple years back, but I can't remember if that was under the current system or not. I'm thinking it was under the new system because I remember grumbling about every other 1-4 seed playing close to home.

Anyone know their RPI?
SoS doesn't play as much of a role in bball as it does in fball. You can pretty much look at a team and tell whether they are legit or not. Syracuse was a highly ranked team early and I could've told you they didn't deserve to be ranked. Same with Wake.

In fball SoS knocks a 10-1 team out of the fiesta bowl and prevents you from winning NCs, in bball it just means you will be ranked right under the UConns and Dukes of the world.

First I want to say that I don't care about these rankings. They are absolutely based on record and record alone, and when you lose compared to when other teams do.

It also has to do with wheter you name is Dook, UCONN and so on.

We will soon be champs of the best conference in the country, so I don't care what these pollsters think, we will prove it in the tourney, just like the big ten sent two teams to the final 4 and 3 to the elite 8 and it was a down year.

On a side note, Does anyone know if Students have a chance for the tickets in Dayton.
