Absolutely. How many games have you watched them play this year? I have watched nearly all of them, and they have been incredibly profitable as a cover machine the second half of the season especially. He may have started slow, which if you follow Clemson according to their staff that was by design. They apparently were not concerned about their schedule and threw the kitchen sink at him since they kept it so vanilla last year for him and they expected him to throw a couple of INTs.

It appears to have worked, because the kid is making ridiculous throws the second half of the year. He would most likely be the #1 draft pick this year if he were eligible. He is better than Joe.

Who do you think is the second best player then and where do you rank Lawrence?

I don't think there's even a debate that Burrow and Young were the 2 best players this year. Plus, Dobbins, Lamb, Fields, Taylor, and Etienne all have legitimate arguments as well. You could even throw Okudah, Derrick Brown, and the LT from Oregon for being dominant at their positions. Lawrence played like ass the first 4 games or so and then tore up group 5-level competition. That doesn't make you the best player in cfb. He's talented, but he hasn't earned that level of praise for his play this year.

He is most definitely not better than Joe. Joe dissects defenses like a pro QB, has elite anticipation, great accuracy, good athleticism, and is tough as nails. Not to mention he produced video game numbers against an actual schedule.

Lawrence was basically Herbert this year but with better WR's and a weaker schedule.

When I look at teams and players I fear the most, it is Lawrence. I agree with you he has the Wide outs to make him look good, but the guy has an absolute cannon, way stronger than Joes arm. He also runs better than Joe. Trust me, I love Joe, but I fear Lawrence way more than Joe. He dismantled Bama last year. Do not let the lack of tough teams on the schedule deceive you. The guy can make throws that no one else in college football can make including Joe, no one. I have watched him. He started slow, but he is peaking right now at the top of his game. I don't think anyone would argue that he has more raw QB talent than anyone else in the country, and the last four games he is clicking on all cylinders. Add incredible Wide outs and Etienne and this offense is frightening. LSU, not so much.

I wouldn't argue against anything you said. However, as Mike Tyson said, "Everyone has a plan until they get hit in the mouth." Let's see how well he does if we start getting constant pressure on him, hit him and get a few sacks. If we can disrupt his rhythm and timing we may be able to force a few turnovers and that could be the difference.
Here's hoping!

Hopefully, they'll have that Oregon WTF loss of confidence when it's apparent that we can run with them step for step AND punch them in the mouth when we get there. I'm not sure that I've ever seen a team deflate physically and mentally as the Ducks did when it dawned on them that they weren't faster than us and they weren't going to up-tempo us into exhaustion.
