Regarding the Offense we had two nice drives for TDs. We also had crappy field position on a number of possessions. It limited play calling and caused Hart to be more conservative. Third, as you mentioned, there were a number of dropped balls that stopped drives. Finally, TX may be the best D we face all regular season.Well after I’ve sobered up some. My thoughts.
1. The defense was outrageously good. We saw pressure, odd man fronts, and just good ball all the way around. That was better than last years matchup to be honest. Once again the defenses ability to bow up at the goal line is something else.
2. Overall clean game by the team. Very little penalty and mistakes.
3. You can tell the program is used to winning games like this now. Big games when it matters? They’ll be there. Good to see.
4. Sayin needs better help than he got today holy hell. How many drops were there? Shoot even Tate tried to drop that touchdown. Maybe the Texas defense will prove that good though?
Overall you can’t complain about a win over the #1 team. That said, I didn’t realize until moments ago that the offense really didn’t do anything all game. That’s a concern. There’s too much talent on offense to be that limited but you have to hope the reason for that was the close game.
We’ll find out soon enough if the offense was due to the style of the game or are there issues there? Who knows.
Watching live though it always felt like the offense was moving well which is odd because the statistics say otherwise.
