Game Thread #1 Texas at #2/#3 tOSU, Sat. Aug. 30th, 12pm ET, FOX

The way it’s been used is just fine. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Play the fight song in those situations.

We have fight songs. Two of them. That’s more than most schools have. They could play the chorus from Buckeye Battle Cry. Sloopy has a place where it’s always played and it should stay there. If they want to expand its use, okay. Dribble it in. Mix it up. Mix in the Imperial March from Star Wars. Mix in the theme from Pirates of the Caribbean. The last thing I’d want to see is us being like OU with Boomer Sooner. But moving Sloopy is sort of like it Wisconsin moved Jump Around.

God, I love that song. Maybe have them play it when my casket gets carried out.

Noticed another change. The band is now seated in the North endzone next to the ROTC section. Might help make the sound carry further. Will report after the Minnesota game.

But the victory bell belongs after a victory. That's why it's called "The Victory Bell." And Sloppy - born at the Minnesota game October 30, 1965- wasn't played until late in the third quarter with the Bucks trailing 10 to 8. They went on to win with a field goal in the 4th quarter. The fan reaction was so strong that the band played the song again in the 4th quarter.
