08 Recruiting (CBF40's look at our prospects)

I can see us getting to the stage where JT starts telling these kids that we only have so many schollies to give, or at least mentioning it to them. Especially to the ones he really wants to go for.
WE need to petition the NCAA for about 20 more schollies :tongue2:
I'm not smart enough to decide how to pick one over the other, the coaches are the ones to decide that fine line. we are stocked at LB maybe leave those to last?

I am also keeping my eye on some in-state guys...most notably: Johnny Adams, Trey Fairchild, Fred Craig, Jeremy Ebert, Eric Magnacca, Bakari Bussey and Will Fleming.

This list requires 5 departures... 3 pro (Gholston, Boone, Jenkins), 2 others due to attrition (guessing)

RB - Torrence
FB - Zordich
WR - Stoneburner
WR - Posey
WR - Scott
TE - Moore
OT - Adams
OT - Shugarts
OG - Jenkins
OC - Brewster
DT - Goebel
DT - Rowell
DE - Camp (Williams)
LB - Hale
LB - Sweat
DB - McCarthy
K - Buchanan

Pryor to WVU, imo. Besides the obvious fit for his athleticism in fball, the Huggins hire has helped a ton.

I love McCarthy's athleticism, but with such a small class this year, i just don'tt see the need for another DB... somebody help me out with this one?

McCarthy has had an offer for quite some time, and the staff definitely wants him...he's pretty good.

jwinslow, you only have 17 in your projection, but there would be room for 1 more with 5 departures.

OSU could survive without a DB in this class, could JT?

As JWins says, I can't see Tress surviving without a DB in the class...Yeah we have quite a few on the roster, but when we are playing 5 or 6 at a time it is hard not to take at least 1 or 2...

Also I don't think losing McCarthy would hurt as much as losing some other guys, but he is just a great athlete and when you can get them you do what you can to bring them in...

Very good list. Some of things that caught my attention was

1). Zordich at FB. I think he has a chance to be one heck of a Will or Mike for us. Loves contact, runs well, good lateral movement and has a nose for the ball. I think he is easily the best defender on his high school team.

2). Moore at TE? Mb share new info with us in the rumor mill?

3). No Pryor. No problem. Henton is a Troy Smith clone, except that he is a year behind in development. After Boeckman graduates, Henton will be ready.

In the Mealer article, it sounded like Koger was excited that he had committed to Michigan...This one won't suprise me either way...

As for Moore I believe that if he receives an offer we will be very tough to beat, but I have to see that offer b4 I get too excited...

As for Zordich at FB, it could be a matter of what lb's we are able to pull in, and also the fact that he would be more likely to get on the field at FB b4 LB with the way we are loaded there...
