I know the feeling, and that is basically what I said about every other OOS recruit along with Hale who has listed us as the favorite, but this kid is already recruiting for us and he loves the coaches...Not saying that he is a lock, b/c there are things that happen all the time, but we are in great shape here...

Most of the time I agree...especially with this years happenings. But many of the guys we thought were headed to OSU just told the coaches that, not really any other prospects. They especially weren't recruiting for us either...it wouldn't make much sense for Brewster to talk up OSU to all these prospects and head elsewhere would it? On JT's approach to this year...I do see a change and I like it. I mentioned in Babbit's thread that it appears that JT may be taking the Matta approach...offer many players that are offer worthy and take the first ones that accept. You may lose a player or two but it seems to be better than targeting a select group and then miss on a ton of them. Based on how many schollies we have to give this year, we have been putting out a bunch of offers. As union has mention, it appears the net has been cast over a much larger group this year and I think it's only going to help us.

2008 Recruiting Class Guesses

I figured there could be a thread where people could post their projected 08 recruiting classes.

Here's my early guess:
QB- Terrelle Pryor
HB- Devoe Torrence
WR- Devier Posey
WR- Cordale Scott
TE- Jacob Stoneburner
OL- Mike Adams
OL- Michael Brewster
OL- Josh Jenkins
OL- Kyle Long
DE- Nathan Williams
DT- Garret Goebel
LB- Shayne Hale
LB- Andrew Sweat
LB- Michael Zordich
CB- Johnny Adams
K- Ben Buchanon

So far this class is off to an extremely great start, and there is no reason to think that it won't get better with the way all the guys are recruiting other prospects...At this point here is my educated guess, I will put 19 guys on here, b/c I can't see myself taking anyone off...

QB - Pryor - We have as good a shot as anyone and the guys have latched on to recruiting him.
RB - Torrence
WR - Posey
WR - Scott - He will do the Glenville routine and then be a Buckeye.
WR/TE - Stoneburner
OL - Adams
OL - Brewster - He is recruiting for us, could pull the trigger whenever
OL - Long - It is either us or Baseball
OL - Shugarts - I thought he was Okie's to lose, but recent news leads me to believe that we are back in great shape.
OL - Jenkins - Will we take 5 if it is these 5? We seem to be in great shape here as well.
DE - Williams - Still not sure if he gets the offer, probably a camp type guy, but he has the skill...If not him do we say no to DE?
DT - Goebell - Just seems like the guy that we always have great success with.
DT - Rowell - Still has question marks, but he is a Glenville guy and we need more big bodies at DT.
LB - Hale - I think we still lead, but this one will go all the way to the end.
LB - Sweat - Could he be the next to pull the trigger? (Grad thinks so and so do I)
LB - Zordich - I always like our chances with instate guys with an offer.
DB - McCarthy - Bucks22 said we lead, that is enough for me. :biggrin:
DB - Tate - I still think we are in great shape here and will be a long race to the finish line.
K - Buchanon
I don't think that we will have 19 to give, but this is my list at the moment, and it pains me to see has have to leave guys like Pead, Woods, Staples, Beachum, Moore off this list...

He is an ATH...Could be a WR or S...

I have heard that he might prefer the defensive side of the ball...

His recruitment is going to be a long one, so I think it won't be till summer till we get some sort of idea about his recruitment...

Just a little update after all the good news from this weekend.

QB - Pryor - We still have as good a shot as anyone, and all of our committs seem to be pushing him real hard.
RB - Torrence
WR - Posey
WR - Scott - Still the same with him, he will do the Glenville routine and will be a buckeye!
WR/TE - Stoneburner
TE - Koger - Not sure how long his recruitment will last, but it is a battle between us and scUM.
OL - Adams
OL - Brewster
OL - Shugarts
OL - Jenkins - Said to really be on the fence, but I think at this point I would put money on us.
OL - Mealer - Seems to be a bad vibe as of late with Long, with all the talk about baseball, playing both sports and having FSU as the leader. So I put Mealer in there, I think that a careful way to look at it is us getting Mealer, but losing out on Jenkins and Long. Either way we coudl pull 1 of those 3 or really all 3 and put Long and Jenkins on the D-Line
DE - Williams - Still wondering on DE, but I still think Williams will get the offer at camp...His offer list is becoming quite impressive.
DT - Goebell - Just seems like the guy that we always have great success with.

Once again I realize that this is probably too many, but it is just hard to take any of these guys off...:biggrin:
